Young English actor Jonathan Scott-Taylor, who won the challenging assignment of the title role in Twentieth Century Fox's "DAMIEN - OMEN II," attended his first drama class near home in North London "because there wasn't much else to do."
Jonathan was seen on British television in "The Fifty Pound Note," "The Winslow Boy," "The Cedar Tree," and "1990," and in the films "Four Feathers," "The Copter Kids" and "Bugsy Malone." He also appeared with Glenda Jackson in "The White Devil" on the stage of the famed Old Vic Theater. For some vigorous hockey sequences in "DAMIEN - OMEN II," Scott-Taylor trained for six weeks with the Sobell Colts Hockey Team, which won this year's English junior championship. A sports enthusiast and "a keen rugby player," he recently completed exams in his major field of fine arts at the British public school he attends. Scott-Taylor's father is a fisheries expert for the United Nations in the small country of Qatar; his sister, 19, works in London and his mother accompanied him here during filming of "DAMIEN - OMEN II."
In addition, I have found that he played the role of Gloucester in an English production of Shakespeare's Henry V, in 1984, alongside famous actor Kenneth Branagh. He played a small role as a dressmaker in another English production, this time Rosenkavalier, in 1983, and that same year, again with the Glasgow Citizens Theatre, played a photographer in The Last Days of Mankind. So, aside from an updated filmography and a bit of info about his family, I have nothing to report. Was chosen for the part of Damien based on his performance as Ronnie Winslow in The Winslow Boy (1977) on British television
