    Jonathan's Interests
GeneralGhost-hunting, exploring, camping, hiking, swimming (sea), making games, playing games, avoiding criminal American publishers, eating around Cornwall, naughty stuff. I'm not stuck in front of The Idiot's Lantern everynight...goodness no....instead, I prefer a few bevvies down at the Jolly Sailor (no sailors, or that jolly, but the live and recorded music is ecclectic and entertaining), The Salutation, or some overpriced place in Plymouth. Yes, Plymouth does have overpriced places! Amazing! Eating out in Cornwall is not as exciting, nor as good as you'd expect, so it's fun to find great new places. Yukisan, in Plymouth, is a great find. A high quality, non-US owned, Sushi Restaurant! Unbelievable. Lunch at Yukisan is to die for. Less impressive, I'm a blood sucker for the trio of sausages at The Plough, near the druidic stone circle at Duloe. Being close to a creepy, ancient site certainly adds flavour; a touch of druidic habit here and there, no doubt. ;-)
MusicBroadcast (especially Tender Buttons), the sublime Shortwave Set (a must for Summer!), Straw Bear Band (Cooper's a folk legend in the making), Goldfrapp, Espers (modern, creepy folk music), The Owl Service (couldn't be better, dying for their first full release, Garland of Song),Ladytron (always surprising, definite fave) and Saint Etienne (currently artists in residence at the Southbank, yay!). The Zen has a massive collection of older faves, such as Curve, Front 242, Aphex Twin, Autecre, Seefeel, Depeche Mode, Erasure, PSB's....and,umm, the occasional browse through the old country and western! I think I must have fallen for the Whiticha Line Man as a kid.
MoviesCripes! Loads. So, this years list of faves is: Perfume, Pans Labyrinth, Ecole du Temps, The Innocents (new dvd release),Sunshine, Miss Potter, Son of Rambow, Isolation, Hot Fuzz, Transformers, Silent Hill (yes, it does have fans!).
TelevisionDoctor Who!! Miracles of miracles, the greatest television series ever gets a comeback! And it's great. High point: Empty Child, Blink and Human Nature. Low point(and even then, it's not THAT low): New Earth, Evolution of the Daleks (ghastly!). Tentant's a great doctor, in the making, if the Director can control him, and the new companions are everybit as human as who went before. It's great to have something unusual on telly, which I can chat about with 8 to 80 year olds....actually, scrub that, make it 8 to 800 year olds. As well as my DW passion, I also like classic television (The Owl Service, Sapphire and Steel, Blakes Seven..and more obscure material, like: Thriller, Hammer House, Treasure Hunt, Moondial) and more recent stuff like Spooks, X-Files, Buffy, Time Team, Book Group, Life on Mars. , X Files, Carnivale, Battlestar, Heroes (kind of...), Spooks, Forever Green, Sapphire and Steel, Blakes 7, Kath and Kim, The Owl Service, Ace of Wands, Fan-mde DW stuff, Tales from the Green Valley
BooksA lot of non-fiction, or something classic, and creepy. M.R.James in a fave....but, I'd have to go for Garner's The Owl Service as tonally perfect and textured for my tastes.
HeroesDerek Jarman, Fay Godwin, David Fincher, Alan Garner, RTD, Looking Glass Studios, Matt Clark, Ken Levine, Doctor Who, Ripley.

About me:
Hello there! My name is Jonathan; and when not stuck behind my computer writing and creating computer games and websites, I am exploring the wilds of Cornwall, England, camera in one hand, and roast beef sandwich in the other. I am, as this page states, 33. (Cripes, it says 34 now!!! I sense a bug in the system). I have been in Cornwall since 2004...having given up on London. Don't get me wrong, London is a great City, but it's stupidly expensive, full of crims, chavs and losers, and is worked by people dying to get out of the city, and into the wild, green spaces that England has to offer. So, taking the oppertunity, I left and haven't looked back since. No regrets. Plus, London is only 3 hours by train, so I still get my fix of obscure film, sushi, theatre, art and grime. A great City...especially for weekend breaks only. When not out exploring, ghosthunting, wining and dining, I create computer games; such as 2002's Dark Fall, 2004's Dark Fall 2 and 2008's The Lost Crown (http://www.thelostcrown.co.uk). Next up, once work has wrapped on the current project, I'll be moving onto Dark Fall III...something I am very much looking forward to. You can follow what I'm making and creating over at the HQ: http://www.darklingroom.co.uk
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone and no-one. If you fancy getting in touch, or know me, go straight ahead and drop me a line. Otherwise, thanks for popping by. Of those that do know me, BE WARNED, there may be photos of you in my gallery (or whatever it's called on here)...ahhh...just 'PICS'...how quaint. Take a look, and see if I've mistakingly published a horrible photo of your good self. It was an accident, guv, honest!

Greetings from the U.S on our big day! I'm so excited to read your blog about Dark Fall 3...I can't wait! I just finished playing Rhiannon from Arberth studios and as much as I wanted to love it I must admit it left me hungrier than ever for your next masterpiece!

They have a Dr. Who exhibit somewhere? Gosh, if Jeffrey knew that, he'd be there in a moment! He watches that show religiously!

All I ever hear is: EX-teR-Min-ATE!!

I must confess, however, to being a huge David Tennant fan. The new guy just doesn't do it for me!

Even I cried my eyes out at the seasons finale!

Thanks a lot Jonathan, nice to meet you. You kinda look like Kerry King in your profile photo, and that impresses us greatly.
