well i'll go ahead and give you a quick summary of it since I'm not sure when I'll be able to get on aim until I get back to Raleigh (i'm in greensboro):
Dual Power is basically taking a service that the government provides (food, healthcare, childcare, transportation, etc) and removing the legitimacy of it's power by creating a more personal version. Food Not Bombs, Bike Co-ops and things like that are dual power institutions because they give food, provide means of transportation and things like that. There's going to be a workshop on dual power at ACRe soon but I'm not sure exactly when. We're going to learn how to form our own institutions. Dual Power is awesome because it's basically building an alternative system before the current system in power collapses so there's not as much work to do when it all burns down. It's a fantastic idea and I know some places are already working on this but we're going to try to get Raleigh into it as well.
Have you heard of Dual Power? It's a FANTASTIC idea and something we might incorporate into our daily lives at ACRe. We should talk more thoroughly about this over aim.

Yeah, i hear that. I recently had a revelation that I need to be working a lot harder on school than I have been this semester. It'll be hard, but I'm thinkin' I can do it.
