| Member Since | 6/18/2005 | | Band Members | My latest CD features me, myself , and I on all instruments, except bass, played by my good friend Dereck Higgins,aux percussion by my engineer/live drummer Chad Rolles, and some backing vox by another friend of mine, Tiffanie Petersen. | | Influences | Too many to even possibly try, but if you rolled up Elvis Costello with The Bee Gees, added a little Hall and Oates , seasoned with some Richard Marx, sprinkled some Joe Jackson, and let everything simmer with a healthy dose of The Beatles, we might be fairly close.
Not to mention, my bestest friend Aaron Stevens, who taught me the classics, like "Tune Your Damn Guitar" and "Buy A Strap Lock". | | Sounds Like | Music (I think). Actually a few people have said that my voice sounds like Elvis Costello or The Smithereens, but what the hell do they know. I kind of think I sound a bit like .....me.

I am a singer/songwriter (but aren’t we all). I am 36 and have been at this for a long time. Some of my previous bands are ORANGE, JOE GALAXY, THE WHAT IFS, OLD BOY NETWORK, STRANGER THAN FICTION, THE ROSENS, DOVER’S WINDOW, CLOCKWORK, WE THE PEOPLE, etc, etc, etc. I sing, write, play keys, guitar, drums, harmonica, trumpet, and just a splash of bass (but I would never hire myself to play) I am married to a WONDERFUL woman who is the walking definition of supportive. I have an earth-shattering(ly) beautiful daughter, Zoe Ann and a little spark plug of a son named Jake McCartney. He loves The Beatles. I have been writing songs ever since I first started playing instruments(probably because I was never really good enough to learn anybody elses). My shows have progressed into a healthy mix of my favorite new and old originals, along with my own personal takes on some of the greatest songs ever written(that I didn’t write, but wish that I had). This year has been especially big for me. I have been fortunate enough to open for The Smithereens, Robert Randolph, and I even pitched a demo CD to Richard Marx.
