InfluencesI HAVE A PASSION FOR ALL MUSIC.

I may not know your band name, but if I review your live show, I will listen with my heart and tell a story of how it made me feel.

I LOVE to dance. I lived up on the platforms dancing to old-school and everything else back when my friend DJ Rich was spinning in Houston eons ago. Call me a dork...I even took Jazz Dance in college. Hey, there were lots of hot chicks in the class. If your music makes me dance or want to rip my heart out I'm happy.

Artistic influences:
The little aliens that come visit me while I dream, life, family, a pint of beer with my friends, George Lucas and most of all, you!

Favorite T.V.:
I am a die-hard fan of anything related to the Stargate and Battlestar Galactica series. I also love watching The Chelsea Lately Show, Daily Show with John Stewart, The Twilight Zone, Hell's Kitchen, House, Scrubs, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Iron Chef.

And if you haven't seen it yet, check out Three Sheets on MOJO HD.

I would love a role in Sci Fi television or film. If there is an opening, please contact me.

Favorite Cartoons:
Pinky and the Brain, Futureama, Family Guy, The Simpsons

Favorite Movies:
Anything that is Sci-fi, fantasy or adventure. I am currently composing the soundtrack for Dead Metropolis. Star Wars, THX-1138, Dune, Stargate, iRobot, Mirror Mask, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Night of the Comet and lots of dramatic films as well.

Favorite Books:
Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
(I was actually named after this book.)
Dayworld, Robots and Empire, Dragonlance and of course the old Choose Your Own Adventure books (including ZORK)....those kick ass!!

   About Jonathan Kramm

Producer, Composer, Programmer, Publisher & Songwriter (SESAC), Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer, Performer, Model, Rockstar Writer and Technical Communicator

Diven by passion, dreams and goals, my happiness comes from the creation and impact of art and music.

Music is my passion.

You are currently listening to music where I am the original composer. The tracks here are new 'works in progress' with the exception of "Last Chance" which is available on "Phased Out" by Phase Theory, the live band that I'm in.

Phase Theory won the title "Best Experimental Artist" at the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards in November 2007.

Phase Theory is electronicly distributed through online music stores worldwide. Please visit http://myspace.com/phasetheory for more details or direct physical CD ordering.

Keep dreaming. Start doing.

My name is Jonathan Russel Kramm.

Music is the foundation of my life.

Born in 1974, I'm originally from a very small university town of Houghton in the U.P. of Michigan. My father, Dr. Kramm, PhD was a professor. My mother worked towards her Masters Degree while raising the kids. They met when they lived in Los Angeles. Other than the average 27 feet of snow per year in my little town, it was absolutely beautiful.

My older sister and I took up Violin lessons early on. I was four years old when we had our first stage performance. Let me tell you...I totally rocked that stage with "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." I had in my adolescent mind that I would learn how to play all the stringed instruments. My thinking was, as I grew taller I would upgrade in size.

As the story goes, at six years of age I asked my mother, "Mommy, what are you going to do when you grow up?" That's when my mother decided I could take care of myself. So, my older sister and I lived in Los Angeles for six months with my Grandmother (Mother's side) while my parents made the big move to Houston. Once we got to our new home, I immediately hated living there. Houston is flat and has nasty hot weather. I now only go back to perform and visit family & friends.

At 9 years old (and a major growth spurt), I skipped the Viola and Cello for my Upright Bass (which I still own, record and perform with today). I trained under Carla Clark, the 1st chair for the Houston Ballet which continued for the next 10 years. Around that same time, I began writing notation on my Apple IIe and recording it to audio cassette.

At 15, I purchased my first MIDI interface to sequence my friend's keyboard and drum machine with Cakewalk for DOS for our garage band. At 16 I trained for 1 year of Jazz for Upright Bass under Frank Murry, the 2nd chair Double Bass player for Houston Ballet. Over time that grew into this blended mess of insane experimentation.

I just wanted to be a professional artist and musician "when I grew up." That was highly discouraged in my family.

Around 16 years of age, I purchased my first real keyboard (a Yamaha DX11) from a friend for $100. I also bought my first sampler (a Turtle Beach Maui card for PC) which led me to creating my own original sounds & instruments.

I graduated college with a degree in Mechanical Design. That landed me my first corporate job in early 1996 at Continental Airlines which I loved, drawing just about everything involving the aircraft including some of my own original designs, tools and database applications. About 1-1/2 years later, I was hired on as one of three people for the new Web team for continental.com. In November 2005, about four Web site redesigns later, I resigned.

For around 6 of those years, I also hosted a popular 80s club night, fully promoted other band’s concerts and helped build up an indie record label with major international distribution (Caroline).

I moved to Los Angeles in January 2007 to build upon my foundation and record 3 CDs with my band Phase Theory (Best Experimental Artist, 2007 L.A. Music Awards). For Just over a year, I was the Music Editor for Express Jet Airlines, exposing new artists across from across the United States to millions of readers every month.

In July, 2008 I was discovered (via my band) by MySpace. They were interested in my writing and past knowledge in Web knowledge from Continental Airlines. I became a Technical Communicator & and eventually launched the MySpace Developer Documentation Wiki.

Due to a massive layoff, my position at MySpace ceased to exist on June 26, 2009.

Outside of the arts and work, I absolutely LOVE world travel, hiking in cool weather, horseback riding, dancing, cooking, stargazing, gathering with friends and curling up with somebody who is nice to watch a movie. I feel that I am flexible and a good listener, usually letting you know when I play 'devil's advocate' in a discussion, but will stand my ground if necessary. I'm generally very nice and try to get along with everyone.
