Jonathan Penn is an Akron, OH native with fifteen years of guitar under his pick. Though his music doesn’t follow a specific genre (a state many indie-eclectic artists find themselves in), his influences include Radiohead, Dave Matthews, The Beatles, and many artists in between. His distinctive style comes from his repertoire of original music and his penchant for the slightly absurd.
Jonathan has not only had the pleasure of performing in a number of venues in Northeast Ohio (Musica, The Barking Spider, Thursday’s Lounge, Fuel Lounge, Northside Club to name a few), but he’s had the opportunity to play international venues in Athens and Southeast Asia. His new album, A Transient Warehouse of Damaged Goods is now available for purchase through his website, wavethenavel.com.
When not channeling his muse, he uses his B.S. in computer science, is finishing up a master’s degree in religion, and lives in Akron with his wife, Colleen.
