Name
Jonathan Stephens [Still at Large]
I am an aspiring young adult author with 2 unpublished novels under my belt and a third one in the works.
I'LL SHOW YOU EVERYTHING - My 1st novel
I have an idea about how to redeem this seemingly hopeless first attempt at a novel. Someday, I might find time to resurrect it. BLURB: When his older brother Michael graduates from Dwyer Middle School, 6th grader Nolan Trimble has to come to grips with the idea of junior high without him around.
NORMAL FOR ONCE - My 2nd novel
I'm currenly looking for a literary agent to represent this novel. BLURB: Senior class clown and football player Abe Prince doesn't want to play the clown anymore but no one will let him quit, and senior quarterback Matt Perdy pointlessly risks his future by gambling on his football games to get back at his father for abandoning the family.
RUNES OF EVENIGHT - My 3rd novel
Apparently I had a great idea because another author just put out a book with a strikingly similar idea. Crazy how two authors can come up with the same idea for a novel. So I'm abandoning this project, for now, and beginning work on my next one. Perhaps this will be resurrected someday.
EYES THAT LOOK TO THE SKY - My 4th novel
It is top secret information and requires level 10 clearance to read about. BLURB: I can't tell you because I think I've got a smashing good idea for a novel and don't want anyone to steal it. I know, call me paranoid.
Country of Birth
Federal Republic of Germany [Can any of you say that your birth country doesn't exist anymore?]
Marital Status
Married [not marred] - December 2001 [so I don't forget it]
T.V. Show I Wish Was Still on The Air
Inspector Gadget: Brain was the best.
Runner-up: X-Files
Why I Write
My compulsion to write stems from my belief that truth does exist in the world. People either like that or they don't, but in their heart of hearts they all know it's there. For me, I'm tempted to believe that truth is relative when it's either going to offend someone or not feel comfortable for me. It's that belief, along with my enjoyment of the writing process and product, that spurs me to write with one hand and fend off pedanticism (My $2 word for the day) with the other.
