Jon Brunschwig grew up in Harlem during The Second Harlem Renaissance. Jon always expressed an interest in music, even as a child. Jon Brunschwig didn’t realize that he wanted to be a professional musician, until one night he was visited by the ghost of a not yet dead Louie Armstrong.
Armstrong told him that he needed to share his gifts with the world and the very next day, Jon Brunschwig picked up a cornet from a local pawn shop. His mother recalls that him and "that damn cornet" were inseparable and she thought "he was in serious danger because of his severe polio".
After overcoming the horrors of polio, Jon Brunschwig was able to finally tour Europe with his "Ghost of Louie Armstrong Old Time Jass Band." He was met with critical acclaim across the great nations of Saxon, Brittany, Transylvania and Gibraltar.
Jon has shared the stage with the likes of Paul Simon, Count Dracula, Lou Reed, Gargamel, Dan Deacon, Video Hippos, Shooby Taylor, The Band, Socrates, Jonny Mathis and the Brooklyn Bridge, Rush, Bush, Garbage and Celine Dion... to name a few.

"It’s pretty fucking good!" - New York Times, Jan 9, 2007
