Well, my influences are many. I love all music. But, I have a special spot in my heart for the following musicians...

People always have different views on who I sound like. I think I sound like me but um...that's not really this is for. John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Bob Dylan, a little reggae like Bob Marley. I try to sound like James Taylor but it's kinda hard. I like to mesh different styles together to make my own brand of roots, folk, jazz, and reggae.

Acoustic singer songwriter Jon Call draws inspiration from folk, jazz, reggae and hip-hop. He captivates the audience with an acoustic guitar, a harmonica, soulful melodies and a luminescent vocal range. His personable lyrics speak of hope, love, and the world in which we live, provoking the listener to open their mind and become more conscious of the way we are and the way we treat each other.
Jon offers an uplifting and refreshing mix of styles delivered in an energetic and positive fashion. His performances are memorable experiences for those who seize the opportunity to see him. If there is a hole in your life Jon's music will fill it. If your life is complete, Jon will add to it. To see his high energy live performance is to witness an artist that truly channels the music in a soulful way. His insightful lyrics and upbeat songwriting style are unique, yet somehow familiar. Hearing Jon Call for the first time is like being reacquainted with an old friend.
JONNNNNNNNIE.... today you were a "featured" member on the Maine Songwriters Assoc. website... you R movin' up in the world!!! when you gonna' come check me out...? (i'm supposed to be playing a 30 min set at the NSC on thurs., april 23.. 8:10 showtime) trying to persuade rei to get up on stage with me for 1 song... yahoooo!!! hope you're doin' well.. peaceout
Hey man, I'm going to have to say if I HAD to "choose" ...my favorite tracks off the last CD are: #1 This Is a Song for You, #2 Lift Me Up, #3 My Ship, #4 Lovestand, and #9 Get Down. Those are the ones I go back to the most and that hit me "hardest" on first listen. I usually listen to the whole album and I dig the other tunes too but...since you're trying to narrow things and make decisions for the band album... but wait now that I'm writing this...I like #6 Addiction Song and #7 All I Ever Wanted a lot.
I guess I'll occasionally skip #5 Ain't No Use and #8 Energy...and I haven't got a chance to get into #10 Masterpiece...so the jury is still out on that one!
Hey Cuz, your baby is beautiful .... nice to be able to see the pics seeming I can't be there to see her in person!! Give her a kiss from us out here in Phoenix. Love ya
