Here's another tune from the This Town, called Not Important:
"Jon Caspi is one hell of a pop-rock singer/songwriter. His first album is one that I go back to after hearing a crappy album to remind me what a good album sounds like (his second album is damn good too)." - Lazlo, BlowUpRadio.com.
Jon Caspi has been a mainstay in the national college radio and NJ music scenes.
His debut solo CD, This Town, was officially released in January 2005, and has been played on radio across the country (over 170 stations!). The first pressing sold out quickly, and the second pressing is almost out. Attention from this album, and his many live performances earned him a 2005 Asbury Music Award nomination in the category of Top Male Solo performer.
August 2006 saw the release of his second CD, I'm Not Angry...Anymore, which is also receiving radioplay and has received critical acclaim. The album received a 2006 Asbury Music Award nomination as one of the Top Local Releases of the year. A song from the album, Believe" was nominated for Song of the Year, and The Jon Caspi Band also received a nomination for Top Pop Band.
In 2007, the Jon Caspi Band was part of a select group of NJ bands to be selected to perform on the TV show Jersey Shore Music Television. They also were nominated for an Asbury Music Award in the category of "Top Pop Band" - second year in a row!
Other recent accomplishments include Jon's song, "Eight Days" being named as the BEST HANUKAH SONG OF 2005 by the Boston Herald and the Daily News Tribune! To buy "Eight Days" CLICK HERE. The Jon Caspi Band was also listed in 2006 as one of Jetty Magazine's Top-5 bands of Central New Jersey, and they were selected as one of a few area acts to appear on Jersey Shore Music Television in 2007. Jon is so well-known in his hometown that a local diner named a sandwich after him -- The Caspi Special -- which was available during the year of 2006 -- but you can still request it!
Prior to operating under his own name, Jon had been the lead voice and songwriter for nationally successful acts such as Bouncing Off Bob and Boss Gremlin, has had his music featured on radio stations across the U.S, in films, and on MTV. Currently, Jon is primarily involved in the great local central-NJ scene. mostly showcasing original tunes from his successful debut solo CD, but he also performs covers at venues that request them. He is known for his fun, sing-a-long, live shows.
Jon's 3rd solo album (with the Jon Caspi Band) titled "Eddie Knows!" A Novel has just been released and is available by CLICKING HERE. The album "reads like a novel" and is a story from beginning to end, with each song representing an individual chapter. It includes "Big Change" "Rise Above" and "Same Old Thing" -- songs Jon has been performing for that past year to very positive reception.
