Jon Cohen is the UK's leading producer of Classical Crossover music. He has written and produced records for all UK major classical labels and has produced and written for artists such as Vanessa-Mae and Operababes.
Jon has had nine classical brit nominations for best album as well as several number one albums in the classical charts.
In 2006 Jon arranged and produced the album Voices of The Valley by the Fron Male Choir. The album went gold in under a week becoming the fastest selling classical record of all time. It spent almost six months at the top of the classical charts as well as reaching no.9 in the album charts, and has so far sold over half a million copies.
November 2007 saw Jon's records dominate the Classical charts with Voices Of The Valley Encore (The follow up to the first Fron Choir album) reaching the no.1 spot (and entering the UK album charts at 11)while Spirit of The Glen (recorded with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards) reached number 2. The Original Voices of The Valley album was still in the Classical Top ten a year after release.
In fact Jon's albums with the Fron Choir and Scots Guards were the top three selling classical albums of 2007 with combined sales of almost 1.2 Million albums.
2008 was a very busy year for Jon with another Fron Choir album (reached number 1 in the Classical charts) as well as the hugely anticipated album, "Together" by The International Staff Band of the Salvation Army who signed to Universal amidst huge publicity. In August, Jon travelled to Basra, Iraq to record tracks for "Spirit Of The Glen - Journey" from The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
He also produced the debut album from Faryl Smith (the astounding 13 year old classical singer) released in March 09 which reached no. 4 in the UK Album Charts.
When not producing classical music, Jon is a prolific songwriter and collaborates with many of the industry's top writers. 2008 saw a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed song for work on Mary J Blige's "Just Fine" as part of super remix team Moto Blanco.
Jon has also written music for a number of Films including Against Nature(2004) and the multi award winning Holes In My Shoes(2006)
