"There should be a Government Health Warning on this baby - 'cos each note smokes its own cigarette!"......Beni Williams (musician/producer)
Hi!
My name's Jon Dalton & I am a jazz guitarist and music writer.
My music's been played all over the world on TV and Radio and I've released two albums with another on the way.
I guess my musical style falls at the "soul" end of the jazz guitar spectrum with the great Wes Montgomery being at the top of that tree.
I'm interested in all styles of music with a leaning towards soulful tunes, R&B, latin and widescreen orchestral stuff.
I'm originaly from the UK but my home base is now in Los Angeles. I've recently returned from a near two year trip to England where I was working on a trio project with a fantasic Hammond organist John-Paul Gard and rounding out the trio is drummer Andy Roger whose funky swinging style is the engine that allows John and I to fly.
I've uploaded a couple of new tracks from our forthcoming CD: Earthmover and The Eclipse. Unlike my last album The Gift which was, very much, a studio production this CD has been recorded live-to-mike and has a rawer, fresher, quality in keeping with the spirit of jazz.
I hope you like the tunes and will keep you posted on the album's progress
If you have any questions (general please, not technical) about the history of the jazz guitar or where and what to listen to, please contact me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can
Have fun!.....Jon

Jon,... I just ordered the CD from CD Baby. Look forward to getting it!
I have closed my photo studio. Yep, turned in the keys to the building on Saturday. Have NO IDEA what I will do in this hick town for a livlihood, now. But...Maybe I'll think of something... Sure hope so!...
Hope you're doing well, and best of luck with the new CD. As I mentioned earlier....be sure to send copies for review to JJG, Vintage Guitar, 20th Century guitar, etc....
OH, did an interview on Jay Roberts...Howard Roberts' son and a great player. Nice guy!...and I got him to get into a photo studio and get some great pics. Had the photograher call me during the shoot, and I directed how I wanted them...which she later emailed. Everything went great. Ed said it should be in the Feb issue.
Stay in touch, and I'll talk with you later... Rowland
Hey Jon!...Long time since I've written or heard... Where are you now? Are you back in CA or still in England? Not much has changed, here...except everyone's got less money... great....just great...
Oh well...ever the optimistic...Ikeep thining I'll figure something out...
Hope you're doing fine... Stay well, my friend... Best... Rowland
