Jon Delaney is a jazz guitarist from Melbourne, Australia. He peforms in a wide variety of ensembles large and small (mostly small), valiantly combats lethargy to write for and coordinate the "Jon Delaney Trio", and teaches secondary and tertiary level guitar students. In his spare time, he rides his bike, tries to resurrect his long lost love for book-learning and theorises about how surely a better balance could be struck between the above activities. He holds degrees from universities in music, philosophy and literature, which he displays around his house and bathroom.

I should be the first to let you know... I don't know whether you're into these guys or not, or whether you'll be back in time for this, but in mid February John Mclaughlin, Chick Corea, Vinnie Colaiuta, Kenny Garrett and Christian McBride are doing an australian tour. Now Thats a Gig. :P
How's Berlin? How's the guitar playing coming? Hope that table tennis hasn't taken over too much of your time lol
Hey Jon, How is the Bewrlin treating you? What are you doing over there? Are you studying? Im thinking I might like to go and study in Belrin too. Fantastic city and almost ready for another course. Please tell me something of the course you are doing? Hope your well. Lach
nice to meet you too at a-trane. The session was awsome. You really elated the audience! Wish you all the best for your time in Berlin and a huge bunch of good musicaans around you:)
Hi John. Sorry I wasn't able to attend your going away performance. I heard it was fantastic - my brother was there! He really enjoyed your music. He is a huge Bill Evans/Jim Hall fan. All the best to you and Karen in your overseas pursuits. I hope your time in Germany is exciting and rewarding. Please keep me updated. Barnes.
great gig last night jon 'Snapshot' was a complete highlight, as well as 'endless reservoir'. Absolutely moving, in fact the majority of the set gave me the impression that id had more wine than i thought - very happy place indeed. thanks for a great night. will see you friday!
Hey Jon Love and blessings to your holiday season, if there is one! Hope the next year holds everything you desire it to. Will try to catch a gig soon, mine always clash. Keep sending sms! Caleb
Things are going to plan I guess. Three assignments to complete and I have a dip ed. I'm not likely to be a secondary teacher due to the fact that I have confirmed my dislike for high schools this year! I've been working one day a week at The University of Ballarat TAFE music course this year, which has been great. Next year I'm concentrating on practicing, composing, and performing. After five years of study I need to do some 'doing' instead of studying, although post-grad is on agenda for the not to distant future. Cheers for listening to my/Jack/Peter's tunes. Your tune 'Little Song for Karen' is a catchy number. You may be remembered as one of Melbourne's classic melodists!
