Influences
Three of the members of Jones'n studied Jazz and Contemporary music at the University of Maine. Tastes and influences run from 15th century Gregorian Chants to Modern Jazz to Alternative Modern Rock to Funk & Disco to early Western American Music to............... Aaah, Screw it!!! Just dump everything made in music from the last 500 years into a bucket and bring it over here.... and don't skimp on the Pate, (where's an accent when you need one).
If you want to know what we're into for music, come to a show and ask us. We all like different things with a great deal of overlapping.
Sounds Like
Whatever band they are covering! The Jethro Tull sounds like Tull, the Dee Lite sounds like Dee Lite, the Clapton sounds like Clapton, the Wild Cherry tastes like Wild Cherry, the strawberries taste like strawberry, the snosberry tastes like snosberry!
Jones'n has been performing in Maine and New England for about 5 years. The group features the best of popular music from the '60's, '70's, '80's, & '90's. The fact that its all geared to get the audience dancing is what ties all the music together. Jones'n also features a song list that is a bit different than what audiences have come to expect from Maine bands. That's because of our instrumentation. With four part vocal harmony, Saxophone, flute, harmonica, bass, drums, and a diverse and wailing collection of guitar sounds, this group is bound to get audiences up on the dance floor and keep them there. The group performs styles ranging from Classic Rock & FUNK, to R&B, Disco, Pop, Soul, Techno, One-Hit-Wonders, Jam Band, Rockabilly, psychedelic, and practically anything else you can think of from the last 60 years. Sorry...... no hair bands or heavy metal. Have you ever seen someone trying to dance to that?!? Our master set list consists of over 200 songs. Seeing as how a regular show features approximately 35 songs, you can bet that no two gigs are the same. Oh yeah....... the boys also do Jazz and Classical if you've got that special event in the works.
Great to hear from you! I'm down in Mexico right now but would love to get together and jam sometime after I'm back. I imagine there are some pretty cool things we could do with two saxes!
