The soundtrack to the perfect English summer you never had either
"With imagery drawn from the natural world and intricately-moulded guitar traceries always close to centre-stage, he creates a wistful, chamber-Pentangle sound-world. Gently attractive; a definite grower" fRoots
"It’s not just his assured guitar fingering or his loose unhurried vocals that show he’s a past master.. but the off the cuff banter that draws everyone together and manages to make the event feel like an intimate party" Oxfordbands.com
Dazzling fingerstyle guitar, gently soulful vocals and songs aimed straight at the heart: Jon Fletcher weaves strands of English folk, jazz and acoustic pop into a compelling and original take on the troubadour tradition.
A versatile musician skilled on guitar, bouzouki, mandolin and harmonica, Jon's debut album A Month in the Summer confirms a growing reputation as an engaging and inspiring performer and writer.
As well as performing solo and as a trio with Colin Fletcher and Jane Griffiths, Jon also plays with Lisa Fitzgibbon, Kismet, Maeve Bayton and is a member of Oxfordshire folk legends Magpie Lane.
Offstage, Jon has produced and engineered recordings for local artists and clients such as Oxford University Press, and composed and recorded music for film. He also has an abundance of educational and community experience: delivering workshops, teaching privately and for Oxfordshire County Music Service, and running the Ark T Youth Music project, where he spends way too much time in the studio.
