These things are horrible to write, who knows what to say? Countless thoughts going through your head: "does writing this make me sound like a pretentious wank? Does anyone actually care?" You know, so bleh. Here goes.
I try to be as a good a person as I can be, which usually means bending over backwards to do as much for the people I care about as possible. This is something that makes me happy, and I doubt I'll ever change. Take advantage though, and you'll know about it. I think honesty is something that is important, so I try to be as honest as possible. It can mean that I'm a little blunt but I never try to be offensive. I like to think that I'm very easy-going and a lot of fun to be around. I love nothing more than going out with friends, getting drunk and dancing to random music. The bond you have with people when you're off your face bouncing to The Proclaimers is like nothing else. The unspoken appreciation... it's special. Going to gigs is something I do too often, yet not enough. Some of the best gigs I've been to are Bad Religion, Sage Francis, Flogging Molly, Tool and Propagandhi. I've even been known to travel to Edinburgh on my own to see gigs. I'm dedicated, man.
I currently a student at Glasgow University studying Computing Science. I'm in 3rd year. As well as being a student I have a part-time job at Tesco Metro in Glasgow City Centre. It's not bad at all, it's not the hardest job in the world, it pays reasonably well and you can get a good laugh out of it. That's if you ignore the junkies and prostitutes than come in at 10pm on a Sunday night. My other responsibility is that I'm on the Board of Management at the Queen Margaret Union. You may hear me bitching about this, but I love it really and it's helped me grow as a person. I've met some really amazing people here, too.
Anyway, here are some things I like (in no order):
Please, if you're a band and I haven't got you listed in my favourite music section, don't just add me. I won't accept. At least message me first. It's bloody annoying otherwise!
Hay hon, I've rescheduled my Party in the Park for Sunday the 22nd of June. It would mean the world to me if you could make it, so get time off work k?
Same as before Kelvingrove park, from 1pm, a barbeque with lots of yummy food, including vegetarian and vegan options. BYOB and I'll be bringing my guitar and poi.
Hello! I am cordially inviting you to my 21st birthday bash on Sunday the 8th of June. It’s not my actual birthday but this is the day I have chosen as the one the most amount of people are free for, which means I want you there! I’m calling it “Party in the Park!” Catchy huh?
Which park? Kelvingrove park What time? 1pm onwards (come early for free food) I'll be getting disposable barbeques; one will be strictly meat free. There will be something for everyone. Feel free to bring food, but that's up to you :)
Bring your own booze, but be discreet! I'll get some plastic cups :)
There will be live entertainment, in the form of music and poi. If you have an instrument (or poi), bring it along, I'm bringing my guitar and my voice :) Can't promise fire poi, but it might happen after dark. If you who wish to party on, the drinking will continue at my flat when it gets cold.
Hope to see you there. Let me know so I have an idea how much food to bring! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What do you mean you've quit Tesco?? I don't remember you asking my permission to quit? You got some explaining to do to Sharon, she's gonna kick your ass for abandoning us!!! Oh well, I guess you had to do it. Where are we going to bump into you now?
J^-h, just where in the name of fuck are you?? You ain't been in tesco for ages, I've even had to start paying for stuff in there!! Did you get fired after all the complaints? or have you been demoted to manager's boot licker and spend all your time in the office licking boots? It's getting quite upsetting, and Sharon wants to know where to find you cos you blanked her in the street last week.
Haha yeh they were ace, I want one! By the way, at the Mr Scruff gig I thought I wasn't on the list, coz SOMEONE put me down as Ethel Small! It was rather embarressing :p x
Hey hey love how are you? Missing me? I saw Gill yesterday - was ace, but did remind me how much I miss you all! Instructed her to give everyone a big hug from me :)
Just thought I'd let you know that i've been doing some research in case you're still planning to pop down for the Weakerthans gig - just been to reception to enquire about overnight guests and stuff here at the place I'm staying - looks like you should be able to crash here for free - something bout me filling in a form a couple of days in advance, and if they've a spare room they'll put you in it, if not we need to get you an airbed or something! And if all else fails, Gill found a backpackers hostel in Camden for £15 a night yesterday - it'd be sharing a mixed dorm, but there's no curfew, you get a locker for your stuff, and she only booked it a couple of hours in advance, so it's cool if it's last minute!
It's my last week in the flat so having a pre-Rev get-together on Tuesday rather than a big flat-leaving party. Come to my flat for about 8pm, bring drink and I'll supply some food and shisha before hitting up Rev big style!
