Jon grew up in the largest city in Mitchell County, Iowa. Osage had about 3500 people in it and didn't even see it's first fast food restaurant until the late 80s. The local shopping mall was, well, 40 miles away. >>>>>>>>
At 13, Jon picked up the guitar after organized sports didn't work out so well(he was so good at basketball in 7th grade that they asked him to go out for wrestling the next year). Miraculously, it stuck, and somehow he knew he was going to be a rock star. >>>>>>>>>>>>>After graduating in the top 70 of his class (of 80 graduates) Jon went to Crown College outside of Minneapolis and studied youth ministry and music. While at Crown, he was in a band called Broken, which pretty much summed up his rock star career. (btw, after Jon left the group, they reformed with some new members and did pretty well...) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>After graduating from college with a BS in Youth Ministry, Jon attended a Music Tech, now known as McNally-Smith College of Music. Jon studied enough classical guitar and jazz guitar to know he was neither one. But it was there that he started getting the bug for songwriting. >>>>>>>>>>>>>A youth ministry job moved Jon to Ohio and a hot chick named Shannon kept him there. They married in 2001. Shannon's status of hot chick changed to "hot mamma" after the birth of Aedan in 2005. Addison, their daughter came along in 2007. If they have a third and it's a boy, Jon is trying to convince his wife he should be named Angus. No luck yet. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jon put together a CD of his first 5 years of songwriting back in late 2003, called St. Laundromat. It's mostly coffeehouse-type songs with a few of the worship songs he's written. The much anticipated follow-up is still, well anticipated (mostly by Jon and his mom). >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jon is currently a worship pastor at a mulit-campus church in the Mansfield, OH area. He also makes trips down to Nashville to hone his songwriting and connect with other writers.
