I have been playing guitar since the age of 11, and have covered many styles including rock, blues, funk and jazz. At 16, I took up bass guitar in order to diversify and have continued to explore new instruments and new styles of music since, playing in a variety of situations, aswell as teaching guitar part-time.
After A-levels, I took a gap year with the aim of playing more, landed a gig with an old school friend and have been playing guitar with Peter Grant's band ever since.
Other projects and previous experience include a Jazz function duo/band, which you can listen to on this page, with Natalie Wilkinson on vocals, bass guitar in the chantel mcgregor band, a few short-lived funk and fusion originals projects and various function bands, including The Mighty Allsorts, who I continue to play with!
I also cover bass playing, backing vocals, live sound, band admin and other duties towards running a covers band called This Late Hour, gigging mainly clubs as well as private functions, weddings, parties etc.
Other projects have also included my own blues/pop/rock/psechedelia band, which has occasionally been pulled together for one-off gigs, but which is now set to become a permanent band.
I try to always be constantly improving and expanding my knowledge and ability on guitar, bass and double bass...which is well overdue an appearance in public! I'm always keen to learn new things and become involved in different projects and bands.
Experience includes:
-blues, jazz, funk, soul, rock, pop.
-various rock bands
-jazz quartet
-teaching in both group and private situations
-Bass guitar in a cuban percussion workshop
-Guitar on Peter Grant's debut album 'New Vintage,' which reached number 8 in the UK album charts. I play on the tracks, 'The Girl From Ipanema' and 'You're The First, The Last, My Everything'
-UK theatre tours with Peter Grant
-Major London jazz venues - Ronnie Scott's, The Pigalle Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club.
-Michael Flatley's wedding in Ireland with Peter Grant
-Heidelberg, Germany, with Peter Grant
-Bass guitar in the chantel mcgregor band
-Private Function gigs with various bands
-Guitar in the Mighty Allsorts soul/funk/motown/jazz function band
-Dep gigs with various bands, the most often being the GT Big Band
-Riga, Latvia, with Peter Grant
-Dubai, UAE, with Peter Grant
-Abu Dhabi, UAE, with Peter Grant
-Bass guitar, backing vocals, live sound, band admin etc... in This Late Hour covers/function band
