Jonny Hetherington is a Vancouver based singer/songwriter best known as the vocalist for rock band ‘Art of Dying’.
Art of Dying is a five-piece rock band fronted by Jonny Hetherington. The Vancouver-based group, which includes guitarist Greg Bradley, guitarist Tavis Stanley, bassist Cale Gontier, and drummer Jeff Brown is the newest signing to Reprise Records/Intoxication Records, the label started by David Draiman and Dan Donegan of the multi-platinum selling band Disturbed. Art of Dying has just finished recording their world wide debut in Los Angeles with producer Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Theory of a Deadman, Daughtry) and are thrilled to now be part of the Warner family.
The band has built a dedicated international following since 2006 touring with Disturbed and Seether, as well as performing at international festivals Download and The Virgin Festival along side artists such as Tool, Metallica and 3 Doors Down. Fans around the world have connected with the song "Get Through This", a true story of struggle and hope which has lead to a heavy following online where Art of Dying has topped the independent charts and developed a loyal fan base.
Art of Dying has been nominated for a 2009 CRMA (Canadian Radio Music Award) in the category of “Best New Group”.

Jonny's songs dive into a pool of life's highs and lows, exploring both ends; the cruelty of failure, the fragility of rebirth, the cold doors of death and the sun drenched comfort of new found love. He attempts to put into words some things that we all feel, but can’t always grasp; those tiny moments that splash up into our faces that he calls ‘fits of clarity’.
It’s these moments that keep us going, that give us glimpses into the big picture. Moments of true understanding; too brief to capture, but long enough to help keep us on the right track.
