Jonny On The Rocks redefines punk. Comfortable in any musical environment, the band's sound is inspired by genre defying groups like The Clash and Beastie Boys.
As a multi instrumentalist and engineer, front man Jonny is responsible for the larger part of the studio production. In addition to being a prolific artist he surrounds himself with creative, like minded band members. It's on stage where you'll see them truly shine- the live performances are soulful and explosive. A genuine artist in his own right, Jonny deserves to be compared to the greats.
Coming of age far from the "Golden Era" of music, his work is a rebellion against what dominates TRL and ring tones. Jonny says -"I'm a real artist, here to make a statement, not sell cola."
Like movements in 60s San Francisco, 70s London, 80s New York and 90s Seattle, JOTR makes socio-political statements, as well as making people dance.
The song "Papa Shotgun", about a depressed fascist dictator, sounds like Ad-Rock with a drum machine doing a Nirvana cover. In other words; what the world needs right now.
JOTR formed in Parkdale, Toronto in 2005 by cousins Jonny Simone and Jr Dunn.
Jonny, a classically trained vocalist and songwriter turned hip hop DJ. Junior, a skilled drummer moonlighting as an MC. Currently developing in Brooklyn, recent additions to the band are: Mike and Dave Machinist; rhythm section for life, Alex Peru; percussionist, Tim Bauman; punk's only drummer/attorney, Isabella Zubor; a gorgeous vocalist and keyboardist, and David Aaron; a truly unpredictable individual.

Flowing on two different paths, Black met White and their respective charms captivated each other like clasped fingers. Life started rolling further, dancing to the tunes of natural creativity. The painters, God and Satan, rejoiced the success of their creation from the abode above. Then came that day when love oozed out of Black and White and they enticed each other to melt and mingle like colors on a palette. The union was divine. Dry leaves glowed with green life, dull earth shined with silvery spirit. But Black and White, unaware of the magic, simply swirled and swimmed in perpetual passion.
