   About JON PHIPPS (composer)
I've just finished a masters degree in composition at colchester institute, UK. I'm not a classical musician at heart though: I came into modern classical music from an electric guitar background. I've just started an avant-garde metal band with members of the colchester bands Carved From Violence and Korvus: i will focusing on writing for this band along side trying to get work writing for audio libraries and teaching guitar in the near future. Alot of the recordings on here are just ruff sketches and mostly synth-generated, but i will be getting some more recent compositions performed and recorded in the near future. I work as a score transcriber/editor for the composer David Fanshawe. If anyone would like to work with me on a project i would be keen to collaborate :)

Hey Jon!

The Reverend is delighted to inform you that his bold new single ELIZABETH – composed in honour of Her Majesty the Queen’s 83rd Birthday -  is OUT NOW through iTunes etc.

Featuring the bells, choir & organ of St Runwald’s Church, Colchester, it is a fortuitously-timed state of the nation address in Bb major. ELIZABETH is backed with HAND FOOT MOUTH, the Reverend’s response to the Swine Flu panic. Music doesn’t get more infectious than this – spread the dis-ease and download your copy now.

Complex, yet flowing musical structures that challenge and delight the listener (me) with a balance of tonal depth and harmony that is a true pleasure to endure!

Hi Jon- Gave the Spiral Horns a good listening to today. Twice. Really like what's happening there. Sounds like the beginnings of a chamber opera there- All you need now is to attach some Kafka-esque narrative and libretti to it! Keep them coming.

Sorry I haven't been in touch, I'm just getting over a summer of muddy music festivals n all! Guess you're back at college now?

I just added your music page, the songs you have up there are amazing!! Are you doing the vocals on Uroboros? Also, I too prefer the BTBAM version of King Crimson's song aswell...By the way, are all those demos home recordings?
