Influences
Honestly I love most music..............Music with heart and soul is my favorite....... Regardless of culture or style.........
I listen to alot of eclectic music especially other singer/songwriters........ Since my music is considered Adult Alternative or Americana I tend to listen to other similar artists like Neil Young, Shelby Lynn, J.J. Cale, Steve Earle, Kenny White, Dire Straits, Dave Alvin, Chris Rhea, Gavin Degraw, Leonard Cohen, Robbie Robertson, U2, Damian Marley, Patty Griffin, Ryan Adams, Dave Mathews Band, Cold Play, Tom Waits, John Hiatt, Sting, Prince, Sade, Seal, Peter Gabriel, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, The Gypsy Kings, Counting Crows, Tony Joe White, Lucinda Williams, Damien Rice, Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo, Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, Mississippi John Hurt, Taj Mahal, Etta James, Chet Baker, Dexter Gordon, Marc Cohn, Johnny Cash, Graham Parsons, The Rolling Stones, & most Blues records..........
I seem to love anything put out by Putumayo..........especially their Blues Lounge, Latin Groove & Acoustic Brazillian compilations......
I am really into reggae right now........ Especially Soulful Reggae & Bob Marley never seems to grow old..........
Sounds Like
Well that is a tough question to answer..............
I pride myself on sounding as original as possible........... But like they say everything has already been done so I asked around and my friends said I sound like..........
Bruce Springsteen ( songs with depth & meaning that can make you think) John Mellencamp ( a midwestern sound that blends many styles of music)
Mark Knopfler ( musical integrity & vocal style)
Tom Waits ( his gritty soulful voice and songwriting skill)......
But they said I have my own style and vibe which makes me very happy because I love all those artists!!!!!!!!
If you like Acoustic, Adult alternative, Americana, AAA style, Adult Contemporary music by singer/songwriters...........you just may like the songs I write & the way I sound!!!!!!!!!
I am a singer/songwriter originally from the midwest & Texas but I now live near the beach in Los Angeles, CA................ People say I am outgoing and I feel very comfortable making conversation with anyone......... I love to laugh and I love to make people laugh................sometimes I can be so silly..........................
My newest CD was recorded at Red House Studios in Greenwich Village for MettaFour Records/Koch Entertainment. Ben Wisch who produced Grammy winner Marc Cohn's first two records and has also worked with Jonatha Brooke, David Wilcox, Cheryl Wheeler and Kenny White produced it and also played Wurlitzer piano. I was very fortunate to work with some of the best musicians around including drummer Shawn Pelton from Sheryl Crow's band. Shawn is also the drummer on Saturday Night Live and has played with other amazing artists including Shawn Colvin, Bob Dylan, Rosanne Cash & Bruce Springsteen. Paul Bryan from Aimee Mann's band played some amazing Bass on the record and Duke Levine who plays with Mary Chapin Carpenter played Guitars & Mandola. Also on the record is my old friend Greg Krueger playing Guitar & Mandoguitar on a few songs, Amy Helm & Glenn Patscha from Ollabelle sang on backing vocals, and Stephanie Winters who plays with Richie Havens ... It was released June 12th 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please go to ITunes if you would like to hear the complete CD and buy it..........
Besides all that I have an awesome 11 year old son named Christopher.

Hey, I'll be touring Cali in May and could really use some help with local spots or co-bills. Any suggestion for intimate venues for an acoustic guy like me? Need an opener? Any shows going on that I can add to?
