Movies
I sort of watch movies and give them all about 7 out of 10. I'm never overly critical when I watch a film but I've never really found a film that I've taken a particular liking to. There's some good ones going around. I just like the ones that are easy to follow and that I can have a laugh over. Name a film and I'll tell you what I think. 7/10.
Television
The Office, The Office: An American Workplace, The Mighty Boosh, Extras, Little Britain, The IT Crowd, Creature Comforts, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean, The Micallef Programme, The Adventures of Lano and Woodley, We Can Be Heroes, CNNNN, The Chaser's War on Everything, The Footy Show, Before the Game, LOST, Prison Break
Books
I sort of like books about music and sport and people. Or a combination of the three. I don't know any books yet that are a combination of the aforementioned. Yet, when I find one, or when one is written, you can bet your bottom dollar (or equivalent overseas tender) that I'll be the first to read it. I like books with statistics and interesting facts. I like odd stuff. I'm a bit like Karl Pilkington in that regard. Speaking of which, 'The World of Karl Pilkington' is a modern literary wonder. Our only obvious distinction is I have an education. And hair. And a normal-shaped head. But I like things like freaks and interesting concepts and little stories that make you think about related topics. These are captivating reads. Get amongst it. Books, I mean.
Heroes
Got a few heroes on the go: Jonty Rhodes, Eddie McGuire, Dennis Cometti, Michael Jackson, Jamie Cullum, Josh Groban
Ricky Gervais, Nathan Buckley, Simon Kennedy.

It was about time 'About Me' had a face lift. It's about time you had one too... It's now December 2007 and I've graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication). My major disciplines were Broadcast Journalism and Radio.
Still keen on my music. Fabulous Queen Benny and His Divine Velvet Jets have been busy working in the studio and writing original material for 2008's upcoming album The Jontee Project has taken off with a couple of singles boosting the bands rapidly developing international status. I've got some new songs in the mix too. So stay tuned for their releases in the not-too-distant. Meanwhile why not check out some of my demo recordings at Jon Hoevenaars Music? Michael Jackson will never release another album. There you go - I've said it. Rohm & Haas BFL Premiership Season 2007 is back on Vision Australia Radio FM 99.5. I commentate alongside my friend and advisor Ed Harcourt, with expert comments from Mick Robinson and occasionally Geelong Advertiser's own Nick Price. I also have a weekly music show on Rhema FM 96.3 on Saturdays (6am - 12pm) and Sundays (9.30am - 12pm). I read the Monday 6pm news bulletin on SYN FM 90.7 and occasionally present 'Room With a View' on 3RRR FM 102.7 I've also just begun a new job at Melbourne's home of sport 1116SEN as a panel operator and co-producer. I'm the Media Manager for the International Backyard Cricket Association, which recently celebrated its seventh birthday. For more information on me and my friends, why not check out The Web Wide World of Jon Hoevenaars today?
Who I'd like to meet: When people say to me: "Would you rather be thought of as Jon Hoevenaars or Jonty Rhodes?", my answer's always the same: To me, they're not mutually exclusive. Would I like to meet him? Maybe. Maybe not. But that doesn't change the fact that 2/3 of the world is covered by water. And the rest, by Jonty Rhodes.

Hi there. Thanks for replying to my comment. IT was very kind. I too, am benevolevant, as illustrated by this reply. and the circle continues!!! In other news, yes TV journalism can be quite a heartache, but quite rewarding... in an egocentric, instanteous kind of way, if you know what you mean. Good on you if you do, sometimes I don't. I've encountered issues involving FIRE wire (no, not the same as fire wall, Thank you Dick Smith) and technical stuff. Do you know much about designing websites or could recommend me to a cheap, but creative person who could? Sorry about this ranting, imperfect comment- I can be pretty random. But, coherance is boring!! (unless you're reading an essay!) :)
hi there. Thank you for your honest comments on my ballet story. Just a thought- what if the afl crowd headed to the ballet and the ballet toed crowd headed to the grand final. My goodness, what a world turned upside down!! The natural order of balance is disrupted! (King Lear) Just off that subject, I am well. In my last semester of uni, but I have been slack as a rag doll... Still, even people like me can graduate, and be quite successful. hahaha I'm filming my tv journo story at the moment, and it's a nice glossy colour one on models being too young/ra ra ... excellent footage! That's all that matters, right! how are you?
