About me:
Hello all JTC members and Ruby Jack Trail Supporters. Please add us to your friends list so we may get the word out about our organization.---
Our next meeting will be in Oronogo at Pappa's pizza on hwy 96. may 26th at 630pm.-----Our membership drive will be may 2nd at st louis and zora along the frisco trail
Phase one of the ruby jack is complete except for one parking lot. The surface has been drastically improved. I have biked on it twice already. Please message me with any feedback.---
To receive email updates from our group regarding trail news and meetings please send me your email address. Your address will be kept private.---
We will be in the Christmas parade December 6th in Joplin. We want to invite everyone to join us in the parade. Bring your bicycles and ride along with us.
Jasper County Special Road District is brushing and mowing the Ruby Jack Trail from Carthage to the Kansas State Line! ALL 16 MILES! The road district is trimming back 10' on each side of the trail. We will then have the entire trail graded!
All we ask is that anyone walking and clearing the large brush is to PLEASE yield to the tractors and mowers.
I have walked the trail from carthage to 171 in Carl Jct. It's a great place to get away from traffic. There's a few old railroad bridges near MO43.
Our presence needs to be at every mile of the Ruby Jack Trail. This will make it happen!
Thanks again for all your support!
Our annual maple leaf ride that was oct 11th 2008 was a huge success. we had over 250 riders in various ride lenghts up to 100 miles.
The Carthage Ruby Jack Trail sign dedication and BBQ/Fundraiser was a huge success! Thanks to all who participated, visited and contributed to thisevent. We did get 11 new/renewal memberships and raised $425.00 to help with the Ruby Jack Trail completion. Please keep tuned for a follow up announcement with the next meeting date and place.
The new frisco sign is installed at st louis and zora. also please note the new mile markers.
If anyone would like Business cards to hand out please email me and I will get you some.
The Joplin Trails Coalition is a group dedicated to creating and maintaining walking and biking trails in and around the Joplin / Carthage Missouri area. We currently have two trail projects: the Frisco Greenway Trail that runs through Joplin and Webb City, and the Ruby Jack Trail that goes from Carthage, MO to the Kansas State Line. Both of these trails are "Rails To Trails" projects, meaning they are former railroads that have been converted to multi-use trails. The trails are created and maintained via the hard work of several volunteers and generous donations from individuals and businesses throughout the community. We invite you to come and explore the trails in person and to get involved with the trails by joining the Joplin Trails Coalition, volunteering on trail work days, and by supporting our annual fund raiser - the Maple Leaf Bike Ride.
