Jordan Richter is a producer and recording engineer with extensive major and indie record label and touring experience. He has been working with sound and music for over 20 years.
His professional career began around 1991 when he moved from his hometown of Milwaukee, WI to Chicago, IL to play guitar in the power pop quartet The Stand. He later joined the punk/rockabilly band This Train. Also during that time he toured with various regional bands running sound. Forsaking his day job, Jordan jumped full time into the music industry running front of house sound for Rich Mullins and the Ragamuffin Band's 1996 major national tour. Immediately after that he opened Roswell East Studios outside of Chicago with Mark Robertson (The Legendary Shack Shakers, Ragamuffin Band, This Train) and began recording an album produced by Rich Mullins featuring members of D.C. Talk and Sixpence None The Richer.
After Rich's untimely death in 1997, Jordan began engineering for Rich's producer and guitar player Rick Elias (That Thing You Do) and relocated to Nashville, TN. During his time in Nashville, he worked with engineer Russ Long as assistant at The White House studio. He gradually became highly sought after as an independent engineer working with many top rock, pop and CCM producers at most of the major recording studios around town.
In 2001, he and Mark Robertson opened Roswell East studios in East Nashville. This midsized facility hosted many indie and major label artists including Will Hoge, Matthew Ryan, Sixpence None The Richer, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Robinella, The Reverend Horton Heat and many others.
In 2006, having fallen in love with the Northwest, Jordan, along with his wife Kerlin and two year old son Adin, moved to Portland, OR. Since moving to Portland, he has produced and engineered dozens of local and regional bands including Caves, The Gossip, The Epoxies, Ben Darwish, Emily Overstreet and many others. He has worked out of several local studios including Jackpot! Recording and Supernatural Sound. In 2008 he met up with Justin Phelps and Steve Killen and built The Hawthorne Bridge Recording Company in SE Portland.
Above are some examples of some of the songs produced, recorded and mixed by Jordan.

how is the new studio going....we are getting the itch to record the many new tunes roaming about in our heads.... however it would be nice to sell some of the fine CD's that we currently have... but that's what musicians do don't they... they make music not sell it... that's for some other kind of person... the smart kind that know how to make money... i am the kind that knows how to spend it...but man you should see the new gear.
