“Man can he play!” is often the refrain heard from music lovers and professional musicians alike when Jordan González, 16, takes to the stage, with his Strat or ES-335 in hand.
Jordan’s guitar playing and song writing have been recognized as sophisticated and creative, reflecting a skill well beyond his years. He has been performing regularly since age 13 when he first started playing the blues and rock-n-roll in and around Atlanta with The Chicago Joe Jones Band.
In the fall of 2006, Jordan got his first taste of the “big time” when The Chicago Joe Jones Band won the Atlanta Blues Society's Challenge and went on to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Jordan still plays with Chicago Joe every Thursday at Maddy's in Decatur. He also plays several nights a month with the Charlie Wooton Project.
He is a founding member of the band Swagger. Swagger competed in the 2007 Atlanta Blues Society Challenge and won the Peoples’ Choice Award. In 2008, Jordan again won the Peoples’ Choice Award while playing in a band backing a local artist. You can find Jordan playing at a variety of venues around town.
Jordan has performed with many of the top musicians in Atlanta and around the country including: Geoff Achison, Greg Baba, Andrew Black, Tommy Brown, Ricky Byrd, Sean Costello, Liberty DeVitto, Ricky Fargo, Scott Glazer, Rita Graham, Grant Green, Jr., Jack Hall, Derek St. Holmes, Donna Hopkins, Eddie Horst, Chicago Joe Jones, Jack Jones, Damien Lewis, Mike Lowry, Mike Martin, John McKnight, Bob Mobley, Nate Nelson, Keith Otterbeck, Barry Richman, Dustin Sargent, John Schwenke, Yonrico Scott, Will Scruggs, Charlie Wooton and Jody Worrell.
You've got some great music and a great page here! Thanks for your friendship, and welcome aboard the Redline ship. Looking forward to sharing the journey ahead with you. Take Care, and thanks again. Peace,
Hey Jordan! Thanks for coming to Stockbridge and playing for us on such short notice. I know you're busy so I really appreciate you stepping in and playing so phenomenally! Of course, it wasn't a surprise :) Let me know if you ever need me to repay the favor! Can't wait to see the 440's live and I'll try to catch you soon! -Emma Cooke
Jordan, I am absolutely amazed by your talent, and SO honored that you played for "The Stockbridge Sessions" yesterday. Have a great summer of gigging--and keep us in the loop!
Jordan!! Whats up man? Its been a while. I was wondering if you could vote for my band. We're in a contest to play the mainstage at a big music festival in Illinois. If you could vote for us once a day it will help us out so much. Here's the link: http://www.cornerstonefestival.com/newbandshowcase/ALoveNotLost/
