I am currently looking for musical projects so if you are a metal band looking for a vocalist, or are a small outfit wanting to be recorded then get in touch.

I am always looking for people to record so if any artists/bands would like to get some tracks down then drop me a line. Prices are negotiated depending on each project.

I am also looking for unsigned metal bands to play on my radio show. If you're interested then please visit www.ShipOMetal.co.uk/unsigned.html for information about getting your tunes to my studio.

   About Jordan Jackson

This page is simply for media that I have had a hand in creating, actively or passively. This includes music (writing, playing and recording), pictures and videos I have made or have managed to get my mug in.

Music has always been an interest and I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity for this interest to grow into a passion. I have recently completed a Plymouth University HND course in sound engineering with multimedia integration but have previously been a performer in a couple of bands of varied genres, written music, produced recordings, arranged gigs from small pub venues to outdoor music festivals and done live sound as well. I am currently a DJ for the online radio station Phoenix Radio where I produce and record my own show, RedBeard's Ship O'Metal as well as producing two other shows; Dissonant Velocity and Dissonant Cacophony, both hosted by Simon 'Satanic Muttley' Gausden.

Music on this page
RedBeard's Ship O'Metal Advert - An advert to help promote my weekly, two hour radio show on www.phoenixradio.co.uk. I feature all the best in heavy metal from around the globe. Guitars by Luke Tasker, words by Beckie Phillips.
The Poet - Andrew Bate - A fantastic singer/songwriter from around Truro who I had the fortune to see live and then record. The song was recorded entirely in Truro by myself, Dale Bailey and Patrick Hoyle. I then mixed the track down with my own equipment. This track is available to buy on the New Songs of Kernow compilation CD from the Jordan Jackson Internet Shop.
You Don't Like - Marble Arc - Pop psychedelica with a raw energy. The band joined me in a studio in Truro to record a track for inclusion in the compilation album, New Songs of Kernow, available from the Jordan Jackson Internet Shop.
Wild & Beautiful - Gally's Folly - The well known duo are joined for this EP by the talented Elly Lucas from The Ivy Frame on the fiddle. This track is available to buy on the New Songs of Kernow compilation CD from the Jordan Jackson Internet Shop.
Ghosts Of Soho - Wreckless Dream - Acoustic, beautiful songs from this St. Ives based band which I recorded and produced in what was one of the the most productive and fun recording session I've had to date. 'Ghosts of Soho' written by Mickey Ripley of Gally's Folly.
Slow Motion - The Robin Vizard Band - Recorded in November 2009 during a live pub gig in St.Ives, Cornwall. Featuring Robin Vizard on rhythm guitar and vocals, Andy Bunce on lead guitar and Sankule on djembe.
Greedy Bastard - Oracy - A 4 piece indie rock band with their song I recorded for exclusive inclusion on the compilation album, New Songs of Kernow, available from the Jordan Jackson Internet Shop.
She's On Again - My Very Fat Friend - An acoustic duo formed in the Midlands. I sing and play guitar. This track is available to buy from the Jordan Jackson Internet Shop.
What Goes On - The Brothertons - A live recording of a Beatles classic from Cornish folk legends, Dave and Dee Brotherton. Click their links to find out about their band, Bagas Porthia.
Something Wicked - Total Resurrection - A five piece heavy metal outfit from Worcester for which I supplied the vocals.

hi there

We have decided to change our name from KALEB to DETHONATOR, owing to the presence of

other artists trading under the name KALEB. Our new band name DETHONATOR has

been chosen to avoid confusion and to promote a brand that stands alone.

Everyone at DETHONATOR thanks you for your continued support.

cheers

Yeah mate, the NT1a I swear by. Real nice quiet mic - it's all about the placement really. The live recording is incredible - was this live at a gig or live just in the studio? Either way, it's a good job. There's not many live recordings with that kind of finish on an acoustic guitar. I've never used the 414's or the 103's though they seem okay enough. Likewise, I've never used ADA preamps, however, I would recommend any form of valve pre-amp. Though again, avoid anything with useless extra buttons, really the less there is generally the cleaner it will be. Simple is beautiful :p I like Allen and Heath desks, though sometimes on the lower end ones the EQ's can be a bit undefined.
I'm interested in the bass drum technique you've used for the two songs with drums? If you listen to the stuff on: www.myspace.com/learncreaterecord you can hear what I've been doing with various band live recordings. I've generally experimented with quite a lot of drum techniques, some more useful than others :p Anyway, cheers for the comments on the Lo-Fi stuff. The more I've listened to some of them in various systems I think there's not as much space as I'd like and I think in parts the mid-range is a little cloudy. But we wanted it out by a certain date so I pushed the mixes and I didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to absorb them in different systems.
Though I'm still pretty pleased with the overall balance :) Anyway, I'll catch you soon!

Hey Jordan! Not a problem my friend, I really enjoyed the discussion! Probably didn't make enough sense as I should have on account of the amount of alcohol I'd drunk, but y'know! :p Anyway, really appreciate any thoughts you had on the CD's - I'm always interested in new opinions! Nice photo of you looking all clever and hard at work in front of that big desk anyway! I just look like an idiot in any pictures like that :) Stay smiles dude!

Hey Jordan! Great meeting you the other night, I had a brilliant evening and thoroughly enjoyed my stay in your beautiful town. Brilliant! Was nice to have someone to talk a little techno-geek to as well, though I say, I think we did kill off everyone else around us :p They just ditched us for being incredibly boring I reckon! lol Anyway, I'm just popping in the shower dude but I'll give your tracks a listen in the studio if I get a chance before I pop off to work in Sheffield. Failing that, I'll be stopping by this evening for a listen. I'm assuming the recordings on here are stuff you've recorded for radio or your compilation? Anyway! Looking forward to listening later. Add me on my own myspace if you fancy a chat - until next time dude! With any luck we'll see you in the summer :) Stay smiles.
