HERE WE GO DOWN THE BLACK HOLE ARTWORK BY WE BUY YOUR KIDS
SHADY LANE is the new name!!! Because of another Jordie Lane from Melbourne we've been forced to change the name. It's gonna be confusing for a while but we'll just have to get used to it.
Shady Lane is an unsigned indie/pop/electronic band from Sydney who’s been quietly writing and recording their debut album for the past 3 years and playing a few shows along the way.
'Here We Go, Down The Black Hole' just got mastered by William Bowden (awesome) and cover artwork done by WE BUY YOUR KIDS. It should be out early 09.
REVIEWS
"Jordy Lane opened the evening, showing off an interesting collection of synth pop tunes. Seeing out the majority of the performance on his own, a female friend who brought some nice vocals and relief joined him briefly, while Lane took over on guitar. Lane's voice is the standout of his show and he used it to his advantage. A melding of folk, pop and synthesisers, his performance was an indie take on Death Cab For Cutie with a dash of Aphex Twin"

"[Galileo] is smart, heliocentric pop very much of the Postal Service school. The electronic elements are for the most part subdued by sweet descending melodies and organic guitar parts. A great story, a great song." - Vijay Khurana, JJJ
"Playing keys and guitar backed by his own electronic accompaniments (courtesy of a Mac desktop – quite a unique on-stage sight in a world seemingly ruled by Macbooks), Jordy has a striking voice could be described as a less extravagant Rufus Wainwright. His songs are reminiscent of acts such as The Postal Service and Clue To Kalo, but he often seems to rest in a very natural feeling middle ground between the two – somewhat subdued, but with enough hooks to keep the songs closer to pop territory than electronica."

Thankyou for being a friend of New Translation. Great tunes on your space. We invite you to taste a section of our upcoming album with a track named 'Found'. On this track we have liberal sprinklings Geoff Bradley and Pete Raidel (Goose) on trumpet and sax respectively, the dish finished with Tony Minnieconn's patented vocal awesomesauce. Please let us know what you think? The track will be up for the month of May so get your fill until our anticipated album release towards years end. Cheers Shaun M
