At 18, Jordyn is already an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, performer and recording artist! Although Jordyn has been singing from the moment she was able to speak, her formal musical journey started at the age of seven, when she began studying piano. By the time she was fourteen, Jordyn had added guitar, drums, bass guitar and harmonica to her arsenal – with guitar becoming her passion, as she effortlessly played from songbooks and rhythm charts at one instance, to accompanying her favorite songs on her Les Paul, “by ear.”
Among her musical influences, Jordyn cites classic rock luminaries such as the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Aerosmith. While classic rock undoubtedly informs the basis of Jordyn’s own style, she draws equal inspiration from the raw power and soul of Tower of Power, the melodic rock anthems of Bon Jovi and the vocal prowess of Patt Benetar! Jordyn’s eclectic musical palette, rooted firmly in the traditions of classic rock, has formed the foundation of her own evocative organic sound.
Jordyn wrote her first song at the age of seven – which she says may have resembled a nursery rhyme. And, although her first tune may not have made it to radio, she has recently teamed with a Los Angeles based writing house where her compositions are being submitted to film and television. In addition, Jordyn has recently completed writing and recording the first five tracks from her up-coming debut production, expected out in fall 2008.
As a performer, Jordyn welcomes every opportunity to showcase her virtuosity as a live entertainer. She has performed seamlessly as a solo artist – performing acoustic versions of her originals and favorite classics, as well as accompanied by a rhythm section. From formal corporate-sponsored festivals to college campuses, Jordyn has experienced enthusiastic applause! She has also had the opportunity to perform as an opening act for JKH/Koch Records’ Artist, Midnight to Twelve throughout the south and southwest.
This year, Jordyn reached a milestone in her professional career when preeminent music producer Silvia Massy-Shivy (Prince, Black Crowes, Johnny Cash and the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and JKH/Koch Recording Artist, songwriter and producer Al Baca (Midnight to Twelve) began production on Jordyn’s debut recording, co-writing and producing the first five of Jordyn’s original compositions at Massy-Shivy’s California recording compound. Although only 18 years-old, Jordyn continues to earn the respect of her peers, the professional music establishment, and most importantly, the applause of her steadily-growing fan-base. Jordyn is poised to make an indelible mark in the ever-evolving landscape of the music industry! Jordyn’s is a career definitely worth watching!
