I must confess that besides the news networks [I only got CNN...BBC World and FOX News] shows like Next[MTV] and Ugly Betty grab me like a black hole in outer space would: overpowering me against my will...
I am never able to watch local TV channels...Spanish on the media simply turns me off to anything...yeah: snobbish on my side...what can I do?

I just finished reading SPANISH COLONIES by Fernando Otero...It is about how the spaniards settled on the high mountains of Perú...this is what used to happen-regarding health and hygiene-in their small cities in the XVII century[Probably what happened around most of the world up until the XX century!]:
¨After their cities had been founded and their community life securily launched, they afforded only the saddest of spectacles,as seen in the light of modern standards.
The sewage passed down an uncovered ditch through the middle of the street,other refuse piled up at the outskirts of the town, and dust and mire claimed the thoroughfares as their own. The corrals or yards too,were so many foci of infection. Of fresh water, never too abundant,there was hardly enough for drinking purposes.
The only bath one could take was in one's own perspiration. Notwithstanding their finery and personal adornment,people presented a picture of personal unkemptness.The primped-up young ladies neglected their nails, which they let grow back and long,and used as a cutting device.Hair,worn long,had a fetid odor and most persons had decayed teeth. All lived in the goodly company of lice and vermin and a change of underclothing was an event. Flies swarmed on all sides, pigs lorded it over the streets and dogs proliferated. Often a town had more dogs than people...¨

Howard Stern= My favorite blabber-mouth on the radio: everything else on the airwaves pales in comparison...I do not have Sirius Radio [I live in Colombia..how would I get it ?] but rely solely on downloading the Howard Stern Show from Torrent sites every single day to keep up with the Howard Stern world...
Madonna= What can I say? I started listening popular music in english in december 1984 when I got my first stereo...So ...my listening habit blossomed totally synchronized with Madonna's career-which exploded exactly that month with her first number one song...she personifies aging freshly...So I can just admire her...because I want that for myself!

In order to achieve that I work out 365 days a year[this year 366!] and I am very stern with what I eat ...with the way I sleep ... with the amount of work that I tackle in my job...My official job? : teaching English at a decent institute ... I learnt English by myself[I am 100% bilingual]...
