"I don't think being half deaf is a bad thing, though it makes people question whether I should really be playing music or not..." jokes Jose, as he ponders the question just asked of him.
Jose Bernardo was born deaf in his left ear. Though most people in his situation would have settled for a desk job and life of making "safe" choices, Jose has time and again chosen to take the paths less traveled.
Bernardo is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and a composer. He has a Bachelor's Degree from the world renowned Berklee College of Music, in Boston. He currently resides in Hong Kong and is the Head Editor of a music resources company called The Weekly Riff Limited (www.theweeklyriff.com) He has performed on 3 albums (as of this writing). His music has been performed on radio in the USA and France. His solo CD and songs from that record are on iTunes and for sale with other retailers. He has performed on stages in the USA, Finland, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
At the beginning of 2009, Bernardo is contributing tracks to the solo debut of Wes Livingston (ex-member of XYgoatZ), writing music for a short animated film (due April 2009), and is working on his own music and managing The Weekly Riff (opening in March 2009).
The Double-Life Taxi CD is now available, and got great reviews from Hong Kong press, come check them on my page and you can order the CD at the bottom of my page.
It is enjoying Radio play in Australia and Hong Kong.
