My main influence comes from the higher power being my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Musically I am influenced by vast range of artists and genres including Moby, Enigma, Yanni, Vangelis, Ryan Farish, Bassic, Mike Andrews, Voice of Golden Eagle, Blue Man Group, Pink Floyd and Johnny Cash just to name a few.
I am also inspired by the events the impact our lives daily. Many of my compositions are scored from personal trials and stress. Music is my outlet to just be able to deal with what I face, and it helps me convey these moods and emotions into song. Many of my songs have no musically standard format, and alot evolves from improv style playing.
Another influence has to be my musical gospel family who have sang in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, southwest Virgina, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia for over 65 years. My grandparents and father traveled these mountains for many years singing gospel songs. It was nothing out of the ordinary for me to always hear music emerging from the family living room on weekend nights when the family came over. It was this influence that led me to start playing piano at age 8 and perform publicly at age 12. I also performed regularly on a local Christian television station here in Kentucky called WLJC. I began performing live on television at around age 14. Early on, this exposure to the public, television and radio shaped me to the person I am now.

My music by many people is considered hard to describe. It's pretty bad me being the artist that I even have trouble describing what it is I do. If you combine Moby with Enigma, than inject small amounts of Vangelis with a heaping portion of Ryan Farish and Bassic, you would get my work. Many of my songs have deep rooted spiritual overtones influenced by Christian faith.
What Do I Do?
Aside from my community work and volunteering at the Appalshop in Whitesburg, Kentucky, I also do a great deal of stuff with Blue Man Group. I founded their official fan-base web site at bluemanlibrary.com. There we have huge databases of Blue Man Group's media coverage including television, audio and print. We also have a podcast in which you can download weekly from the Blue Man Library, called Switchback. My co-host John "Petro" Petty can also be heard, and we basically talk to blue man fans and do all sorts of qwarky gags. It's good fun, and you can also visit us on iTunes. So this whole Blue Man Library (BML) is a site for the fans by the fans of Blue Man Group. The fans keep the site going by submitting pictures, clips, attending chats, podcasts, contests, fan meets etc..
