   About Josephine Bell
I began my self-imposed exile more than seven years ago, when I moved to London in the midst of a cold and grey January winter. Amidst the ghosts of Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath, in Bloomsbury, I wrote about the Boston poet Anne Sexton. Had Townes van Zandt been born a woman poet, he would have been her.

It was in London that I met Thomas Hansen, or Saint Thomas, who became my companion in life, love, and music, for many years. I moved to Berlin, and then on to the North, to Oslo. That city and everything that has happened there has engrained itself in my heart.

I had the great honour of recording a song with Nashville legend Dave Cloud, called Mrs Crumb. Dave is a genius, a rare Bukowski-like shaman with a heart of gold.

Right now I am in Budapest, the city of sirens, writing songs and recording demos, in my bare and bohemian flat in the VIII district.

Oh, Ilse! You are so lovely, and so are your songs. We are honored to have our album echo through your Budapest apartment. Truly. Thank you for the encouragement that you have written. We really must meet one of these days and play music.
Are you settled in Hungary at the moment, or does the road have other plans for you this year?

Why, thank you so much for the lovely compliment, Josy! Yeah, we really hope to get back to Europe within the year to play some shows. When we do, let's set up a show together somewhere. The album should be available on cdbaby. com around 3/14 (CD shipped or album download). Anyway, thanks for writing, and we really hope to hear you live one day soon.

Hello Josephine Bell(es)! We found you on the Sonic-Reducer sampler. You have a lovely sound, and we wanted to say so. We hope to cross paths with you in Europe some time. Have a beautiful week wherever you roam.

p.s. You might also like the poetic indie-folk of Samuel’s other music called “Of The Isles” [myspace. com/oftheisles].
