May 20th, 2008 – Singer /Songwriter Joseph Israel is set to take this Message Music coast to coast this summer. The universal power and appeal of Israel’s Music is bringing all types of people together in this time of spiritual Awakening. “A Feeling of true hope for the human race and a promise of good things to all people of goodwill is the message in this Roots music.” says Israel.
Joseph Israel’s music has also recently taken root in the Hasidic and messianic groups around the world thanks to heavy rotation on Yati radio ( www.yatiradionetwork.com ). As a student of Torah (Hebrew scripture) and the teachings of Moshiyach (messiah ) Yahshua of Nazereth, Israel is a unique artist making musical waves with this, as many people are saying “messianic reggae “ .
Joining Joseph Israel will be the Jerusalem band consisting of Marlon Davis from Little Rock, Arkansas on Drum and Harmony vocals, Rupert McKenzie from Kingston Jamaica on Bass, Joseph Israel on lead vocals and Guitar. “This summer we are going to bring out a fresh new sound in this music“, says Israel. The sound will be focused around the soulful songwriting and acoustic guitar of Joseph Israel with Gospel harmonies and hard-core reggae drum and bass. They will be playing crowd favorites from the Gone are the Days album (Israel’s debut CD reached 11 on reggae billboard 2007), and the Teach your Children Restore Humanity (acoustic EP on iTunes exclusive). Joseph Israel will also use this tour to bring in some new songs (unreleased material), that is being considered for the new Joseph Israel CD.
Joseph and the band just completed a very successful spring east coast tour with the highlight being the Caribbean Fest in Miami that featured Joseph Israel alongside Damian “Jr.Gong” Marley, Stephen Marley, Gentleman, Capleton and more. Joseph Israel is ready for the summer festivals ahead. You can see him this month May 25 in Moab Utah at the Desert Rocks Festival, in July 6th at the Carifest in New York w/ Matisyahu, Groundation , Slightly Stupid, and Lee Scratch Perry www.reggaecarifest.com (www.keepachildalive.org.)A percentage of all proceeds from the concert will go to Keep A Child Alive AIDS Organization.
Joseph Israel and the Jerusalem Band will be performing at a series of live club dates on the east and west coast all summer long. This includes a very special Guest appearance by percussionist Leon Mobley from Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals @ the Key Club in Hollywood, CA on June 5th. See you at the show!
