Joseph Tobin, the son of an Evangelical preacher and a loving, hard-working dedicated mother has been a student of life from a very early age. These “life studies” along with good and hard times, tried and tested relationships and a hunger for finding a way to express his triumphs and frustrations led Joseph to music as an outlet for his ever growing perspective.
The music of Joseph Tobin is reminiscent of legends like Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder and The Grateful Dead and contemporaries including Citizen Cope and Ray LaMontagne. His independent debut album “Ride With Me” was recorded at Phantom Vox Studios in Hollywood, California and fully funded by Joseph doing music sessions during the day and working the night shift to keep the album alive.
Joseph Tobin’s “Ride With Me” features a “who’s who” of Hollywood session musicians including, Doug Pettibone on guitars (Lucinda Williams, Ray LaMontagne), Orlando Sims on bass (Chalk Farm, Chris Pierce), David Leach on percussion (Donovan Frankenreiter, Ben Harper), Paul Allen on drum kit (Amel Larrieux, Kelly Clarkson) and many more. The album was produced by Grammy award winner Seth Horan and critically acclaimed songwriter/musician/producer Chris Pierce. It features ten songs that feature Joseph’s unique songwriting ability with raw, honest undeniable vocals and acoustic guitars.
Joseph spends his time working, writing and playing shows and has an unstoppable dedication to his music, which was very evident on a recent independent US tour including sold out shows, enthusiastic crowds and successful radio and press interviews. Joseph is currently writing songs for his second studio album and playing venues in the Los Angeles area. The album is available on many fine online retailers including iTunes and CDBaby.
