About my philosophy
Sometimes you realize what you used to believe and perceive as true, is actually far from true. After waiting, hoping, wishing, desiring and sometimes even obsessing over an ideal, you hope that you'll someday be able to understand the unfiltered "Truth." But what if it turns out you can't find what you're looking for because it was just a dream you created to keep yourself going - what if truth was always, simply, your creation?
That idea is the starting point for many of my movies. The stories often revolve around the nature of reality being discovered only after it's too late to rejoin it as it was. I think skewed reality and the distortions of perception, especially when making a moral decision, are the most interesting subjects in movies.
About Following Me (2007)
Wait for it go before you sleep. When you awaken, it will be there again. Who is following John? (Kyle Haggerty)
About The Time Between (2004)
The Time Between is about a driver (Nick Monroy) deciding - just after hitting someone with his car - whether he should keep driving, or stop. After the accident he goes to work. Nobody seems to be in except for one co-worker (Katie Faris). The elevators and stairs are locked, and he soon suspects the co-worker saw the accident and that he may not be able to get away with it after all.
About Someone's Appointment (2003)
Dean (Nick Monroy) works behind stacks of papers under the incessant buzz of fluorescent lights. His boss (Luis Monroy) hands him a business card that reads: "Overtime Required. Mandatory." The end of the day comes and Dean solemnly moves out from behind his desk. After missing an appointment the following day he finds his car missing and gradually realizes he isn’t just out of a job.
