Sounds Like
This one confused the Hell out of me. I sound like me, i hope?
Jose Ramos is one of Boston’s most exciting and prolific Blues and R&B vocalists, and his No Way Jose! Band is a multi-cultural blend of musicians from all over the world who have been packing the clubs around Boston for over 20 years!
Equally at home playing Jazz, Jump Blues, Classic R&B, Swing or Funk, Jose Ramos and the No Way Jose! Band keeps audiences Hot, Thirsty and on the dance floor all night!
Raised in Boston's South End, lead singer Jose describes himself as a "New York-born, Boston-raised Puerto Rican from out of the Projects singing the Blues" and "was born into rice and beans, but grew up around Grits, Greens and Gravy!" – Jose is a perfect example of what the No Way Jose! Band is all about - witty, personable, and one of the most fun musicians you’ll ever hear!
“Jose Ramos…(is) a tight, smooth, extremely sympathetic ensemble that always plays with exquisite taste. Band and singer shine throughout a vastly entertaining program…Jose personalizes every song he sings in his strong, supple tenor voice, and the band members sparkle at every turn!”
– John Sinclair, New Haven
Jose’s latest CD – “Just Call Me ‘Zay!” (Produced with Scott Matalon at Music Lane Studios) is an exciting blend of original and classic material, and is chock full of swinging arrangements, moving lyrics and memorable solos, and is available at Cheapo Records and www.CDfreedom.com.
Most recently, the multitalented Jose Ramos has been a featured actor in the movie “Monkfish,” directed by Rod Webber and co-produced by Metropolitan Pictures, scheduled for release at the end of 2007. In addition to his film work, he is also featured in Time Magazine’s upcoming photo-documentary about the historic Wally’s Café
Jose Ramos and the No Way Jose! Band has been appearing at the historical Wally’s Jazz Café in Boston on Monday nights for over 15 years, and has been featured on AT&T’s Chowdah TV Show, WBOS’s Holly Harris Show and by the Boston Blues Society with WMFO Radio.
