Hailing from humble roots in rural southeastern Wisconsin, artist Josh Beale is causing a stir in the music community that can only be described as anything but that. Versed and immersed in music from a young age, Beale has grown into a mix of rocker, sage and musical visionary. His style is presented in a spicy, unapologetic manner that makes your head spin and your heart swoon.
Beale adds his own unique edge to a wide pool of influences from rock bands like U2 and Fiction Plane to more American flavors like Gavin Degraw, Train, and Keith Urban. Josh writes songs whose topics range from love and relationship issues to those of spirituality and social consciousness. They are filled with infectious musical hooks and soul-wrenching lyrics that demand contemplation, allowing him the versatility to both meet the audience where they are and to take them beyond themselves towards hope and healing. Beale’s live show only serves to further emphasize his talent and charisma, exuding energy and flair that refuses to be ignored.
In the fall of 2006, Beale attended the Contemporary Music Center located on Martha’s Vineyard, an invitation-only artists’ colony for up-and-coming musicians and entertainment industry executives, and released a single on a compilation disc, available from 450 Records. In the summer of 2009, he won a highly competitive songwriting competition at Boston's prestigious Berklee school of music and was a featured artist at the subsequent songwriters' showcase.
