An engaging stage presence, and a talent for singing, playing the guitar and songwriting, is a good start for a guy who has a deep desire to make a career in the Australian music industry.
Josh is well known on the North Coast music scene having grown up in Byron Bay, and is enjoying increasing popularity on Sydneys Northern Beaches. He also impressed the recording industry a few years back, when Sony Music awarded him a prestigious songwriting/recording scholarship.
Josh graduated the prestigious Talent Development Project held in Sydney that has seen the launch of careers such as Human Nature, John Foreman, Paulini and Brooke McClymont to name a few. Since then has performed solo at both the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and is now recording his own songs with ex-Savage Garden guitarist/songwriter, Daniel Jones.
He was signed to Pavilion Musik, a new indie label thats part of surf brand Quiksilver, and is part of the line up of artists on the Kelly Slater DVD 'Letting Go' as well as the new Roxy DVD 'Shimmer'. Below is a clip from the latest trip with Quiksilver to West OZ!
While still in the developmental stage of his career, his music can be seen as an honest, easy listening style, but assures us that this is only the beginning. If recent songwriting/promo trips like the one to Hawaii where he jammed out with the likes of G-Love and John Cruise in front of the company of the boys from Incubus and Foo Fighters , and also Western Australia with Richard Grewar from The Eighth Colour are anything to go by, the songs will sure to be flowing..
Nice one Josh.. I like yer stuff mate. Hope to run into you somewhere out there n kick out some jams with you.. meanwhile, take it easy n keep in touch brotherman
