Former member of the award winning bluegrass band Brackston Hicks, Josh Brown is currently working a real job as a teacher and lighting up the stage with his super technical stage moves on the weekends and the summers. As a member of the Brackston Hicks, Brown played many bars and theatres in the Florida area and even opened up for Motown legends, The Four Tops.
Brown's song "I'm Gone" has recieved a little bit of airplay on Boston's WTBU Radio 89.7fm. In 2007 Brown performed live on Rome Georgia's country affiliate South 107, and made it into their top 4, in a songwriting contest. In the fall of 2007 Brown's voice was used in the bluesy jingle "Kudzu Around My Heart", written by Atlanta music producer Chris Bartelski. The song was in the film "Tonky", produced by Emmy-Award winner Craig Tollis.
Brown also plays many instruments. He prefers Martins over Taylors, thinks Marty Stuart is underrated, and prefers Coors in a can.
As of recently, Brown is the new banjo player for The Rustic Family. The Rustic Family is an exceptional group of people, they play at festivals and travel in a Winnebego. Visit www.rusticfamily.com for more details.
