Josh Hyde was born March 4th, 1969 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Spending most of his youth in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The echos of blues, jazz and zydeco were part of the landscape. Some of the local influences were Tabby Thomas, Larry Garner, and Silas Hogan.A singer/songwriter and guitarist, he produced his first cd in 1998 with the help of Jamey Bell entitled All You Need Is Soul. Working in collaboration with Sonny Landreth (sonnylandreth.com) on the title track this cd is a mixture of blues, soul , and roots. Since then he has released two more independent cds- The Edge of Love and Dark Side.The second project, The Edge of Love, was released in 2000. Working with grammy nominated piano player and song writer Steve Conn (www.steveconn.com) this cd blends many different influences from jazz to New Orleans rythyms to sultry ballads. Recorded with his band, the Hitchhikers, the 2004 release of Dark Side was the product of over 2 years in the studio and live cuts.
