Bio
Welcome to my site. Here is a little about myself. I grew up on the Treasure Coast and I started playing professionally at age 12 in a teenage 50's-60's band, the Fabulous Showstoppers. They played throughout Florida capitalizing on the oldies revival of the late 80's and early 90's. This landed me the opportunity at a young age to back up such artists, as Joey Dee and the Starlighters (Peppermint Twist), Jimmy Beaumont (Since I don't Have You), The Tokens (the Lion Sleeps Tonight), Johnny Farina (Sleepwalk), and more. For a little trivia, Jimi Hendrix also played guitar for Joey Dee and the Starlighters, how's that for six-degrees of separation? I made my move to Clearwater in 1998 to play with members of Deeforce, Jam Magazine's Best Original Band, award winners. They started a band called the Swingin' Mooks whose, rock approach to the genre quickly caught the ear of shock jock DJ, Bubba the Lovesponge. This widened our fan base and helped capture the title of Jam Magazine's Best Swing Band in Florida. The Swing craze like many good things came to an end and the Mooks reinvented themselves, going back to their funk and rock influences, to form the Saturn 5. We continued with the regional base of the Mooks and even toured the East Coast, recording a live CD in New York at the legendary CBGB's and Mercury Lounge. In addition to the live CD the Saturn 5 released a studio album and two CD's previously in the Swingin' Mooks. This whole time I had a side project, a multi-genre, power trio called the Groove Altar. We started on the East Coast in 96 released a CD in 2000 and continue to play shows to this day. Post Saturn 5 I played in a party/cover band called Velvet Jones, rocking crowds in Central and South Florida. I am currently doing some shows with the Groove Altar in St. Pete and performing an acoustic single back on the Teasure Coast. At this time I could list all the "famous bands" I've opened for, and there were plenty, but who cares, I still haven't opened for Fishbone. Thanks for reading. I hate talking about myself, really, but I had to list some credentials for interested parties. Thanks for listening. -
