In my opinion, "Before These Crowded Streets" is one of THE best albums ever made...

The "squeeze box" in this video is called a bandoneon. It is the bigger, clunkier older brother to the accordion. If you haven't heard of Astor Piazzolla, he was a prolific musician from Argentina. He crafted some of the most bizarre and sublime music ever heard. ALthough he was and still is the undisputed master of his instrument, Piazzolla's music is often overlooked because of its stark departure from the ordinary. This is Yo-Yo Ma's ensemble performing his "Libertango". RIP Astor.

In 1981, Simon & Garfunkel reunited for a free concert in Central Park to a crowd of more than half a million! This is one of my favorite songs from that concert...

MoviesValidation: A Fable About The Magic of Free Parking...
Please take 15 minutes out of your day and watch this powerful short film.

Dare I say that a football film can be beautiful? If you ask me, this movie transcends its genre of sports flick, or high school drama. I may sound like a sap, but quite simply, this film moves me. Cinematography: Excellent; Music: Mesmorizing; Story Line: Unbelievably true; oh yeah...there's some mad hits in it, too. Friday Night Lights. Watch it today!

Fight Club was a movie I scoffed at when it came out. I thought..."guys fighting each other for no reason? How stupid." So, 3 years went by, and someone told me I HAD to watch it. So I did. Pretty interesting for the first 1.5 hours...Then something happened. I immediately rewound it (yeah that's right, VHS baby!) and watched again with an entirely new perspective. A well crafted masterpiece to be sure.

This is one of the baddest movies ever! And I'm talkin' 80's bad, when bad meant good. Plus this rarely seen trailer is so campy, it actually IS bad....I mean good....er.

TelevisionRing any bells to recent events? No one puts the truth out there like these guys.

Ah Moe...you try so hard. There's good in you yet.

Social Media Marketing: An Hour A Day

by Dave Evans

Review to follow!
HeroesMy heroes are people who take what life gives them and prosper regardless of their surroundings. I am inspired by folks who make lemons into lemonade. It is my belief that out of this current economic struggle we face, many heroes will be born.

Out of this struggle, we will find our path and create our new destinies. Many heroes to be made yet.

Paul Pena
A legendary blues musician, Paul heard something interesting over his short wave radio one day. It inspired him to learn 2 new languages, master the art of throat singing, and fly across the world to compete in a world-wide competition. He did all this despite being blind and well past his prime. Paul showed me that you MUST follow your passion and prosper no matter how difficult the journey. That qualifies him as a hero to me. RIP, Paul. Thank You.

If you have not seen "Genghis Blues", it is an absolute delight.

Christopher Reeve
Perhaps it's fitting that Mr. Reeve is one of my heroes. I spent the better half of my early childhood wearing Superman pajamas complete with the cape and everything. When I wasn't wearing them (well they were under my clothes), I wore a suit and tie with thick-framed glasses which had no lenses a la Clark Kent. Needless to say, Superman was quite an important person in my life.

But, when Mr. Reeve had a crippling horse-riding accident in my teens, I couldn't help but feel tremendous sadness. In fact, I got a knot in my throat just now as I write this note, half my life later. It was at that point in my life where Superman was no longer my hero. But Christopher Reeve, the "super man", was.

Even after becoming completely paralyzed, he showed a strength of character and determination that brought him world-wide acclaim and awareness for his causes. He NEVER stopped believing that his life was only going to get better and that he could still make a difference. Always had a smile on his face. Mr. Reeve, you and I have never met and we never will in this world, but thank you for being an inspiration in my life and so many others, both as "Superman" and as "super man".

Also, join me on Better Networker Forum. This is a great place to connect and learn about network marketing.
www.betternetworker.com

My life has included several changes in direction and has been quite a wild ride. I spent my college years studying music as a percussionist. After completing my degree, I spent 6 years as a teacher. When it was time to move on, I became a Realtor here in Austin. As many of you know, now is not really the greatest time to get into real estate. But, I thought it was a worthwhile challenge anyway.

So anyway, a series of struggles, ups and downs, and downright necessity, I decided that my life needed to alter paths at least one more time. That's when I discovered the vast world of network marketing. I then discovered...I was good at it. Never have I been so inspired, felt so empowered, or learned so much about such an incredible relationship building opportunity.

You see, the primary thing I was missing in all of my past careers was connections with real people. My new found skill has afforded me the ability to do what I apparently enjoy very much: communicate with, educate, and empower others like me. It's an incredible experience!

Here is the primary business I am in involved with. It's called Ambit Energy and the video is an interview of Steve Thompson, National Consultant and one of my mentors.

For more information about joining my team, please visit: www.energytoearn.com for an interview.

Along the way, I have discovered a great number of helpful resources that have assisted me in learning the most effective ways to grow my business. It is my pleasure to share these with my friends and help them improve THEIR life experiences as a result.

Awesome, FREE Web-Design Software
Watch me build a website from scratch in 5 minutes. This ain't no template either! I am using free, open source software that is just as versatile as expensive web-development tools. I'll be the first to admit it isn't beautiful. But it is functional and took a minimal amount of effort and knowledge. This is one of the things I picked up along the way.

For a much more detailed version of what you can do with KompoZer (which is free), check out my website www.kompozerhowto.com. I built it entirely with KompoZer.

Some Tools I Use
There are so many products out there and they all claim to be the best. When it's all said and done, you have to be the judge. However, I have found it helpful when people provide unbiased reviews of their experience rather than sales pitches. Below, you will find a couple of reviews for products I have found to be very useful in my business. I'll rotate them out to keep them fresh, but you can also access the reviews on my personal website at any time.

Austin Real Estate
If you are in Central Texas, you may find my suite of free home search tools useful. There are search engines for new homes, old homes, homes for rent and apartments. If you're just looking for a place to do your own search without getting bugged by agents, you can use my sites without registering...Be my guest.

This site is currently undergoing a massive overhaul, but let me know what you think of it so far. I am using a new system called CoreFact, and I am the first agent outside of Silicon Valley to have it!: www.jtreal.com

Enjoy!

Who I'd like to meet:
I am interested in forming relationships with smart, motivated people from all walks of life. I have found in my experience, that everyone has strengths and insightful information to share.

No matter what you do, where you're from, or who you know, I've got something to learn from you. Perhaps I can even teach YOU a thing or two. So, join me as I make new connections all across the nation and beyond!

The Robot Marvel
There is quite a lot to be learned here. This is a man who, instead of falling back on what he can't do, has taken charge on what he CAN do. Plus... he has a SICK robot!

J-Mac
Here is a young man who shows that there is a winner in all of us, even if it seems completely hopeless and everyone else has counted you out. Sometimes, all you need is a chance. Work hard, be a team player, and people will recognize. The rest is up to you and fate...AMAZING person! Enjoy.

Perry Belcher
This guy just cracks me up. We actually live in the same town now and we are both from Kentucky. Perry is in the same field as I, although he has quite a few more notches under his belt (I think that's how the saying goes). Anyway, this is a dude that I could learn something from and enjoy a beer (or 5) with. Perry, if you see this, let's go hang at the Oasis.

Bill Bachman
Throughout my time as a musician, I was very active in the drum corps world. By the way, if you don't know what DCI is, educate yourself. Anyway, I had the privilege of knowing and working with some of the finest performers in the industry. But this is one guy I never got the chance to meet. I'm sharing him with you because he has taken one very specific niche market and turned it into his own empire (marching tenor drums). It's quite inspiring what you can do if you totally invest yourself. Doesn't really matter what it is, right?....STUPID GOOD hands! Just stupid.....check it out.
