  • Bio

.. ..........This layout was handmade with love by the folks at ..My space or yours?.. Go get one!.... .. .. Been hitting drums since age 5. Grew up in southern-KY playing rock, country, bluegrass, metal, etc. Lived in central Illinois for 6 years. Master's degree from the Univ of Illinois in Champaign in percussion performance. D.M.A. in Jazz Studies. Currently living in Nashville, TN, where I work as a freelance musician, and serve as adjunct faculty at Nashville State Community College and Motlow Community College. Have performed with David Fathead Newman, James Carter, Marvin Hamlisch, David Berger, Evelyn Glennie, Jim Pugh, Jim Culbertson, Chip Stephens, Chip McNeill, Glenn Wilson, Larry Gray, Joan Hickey, Jeff Grubbs, Peoria Symphony, Champaign-Urbana Symphony, Sinfonia da Camera, The Prairie Ensemble, and others... ..Though my diplomas state otherwise...I consider myself a student of every possible music. I certainly do not think of myself as merely an "orchestral percussionist" or a "jazz drummer." ..

Instead of vowing to honor and obey each other, we should swear to aid and abet each other.

Human physiology does not direct all of its own functions; it is interdependent. It must be steadied by the physical presence of another. This is necessary for both physical and emotional health. In many ways, humans cannot be stable on their own—they require another to survive.

If a man does not make new acquaintances as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man should keep his friendships in constant repair.

But whether it be dream or truth, to do well is what matters. If it be truth, for truth's sake. If not, then to gain friends for the time when we awaken.

Dude, hot stuff man.  It's been a long time.  Sounds like everything is going good for you.  Holla at me sometime so we can talk.  I'm still teaching and writing on the side.  Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Joshua,

Hey your music sounds great!   Hope to get a chance to meet you sometime. Nashville has a small, but dedicated jazz scene--probably more musicians than gigs, at the moment, but that seems to be the case just about everywhere.  Keep up the good work, and I look forward to meeting you!
