I started playing music when I was 4 years old by playing classical piano. I was the youngest of 3 children and we all took piano lessons at the same time. So I developed my ears really quick. As a result, I was able to play by ear. I started playing classical violin after that for 8 years, until I heard James Taylor play "Fire and Rain" on an acoustic guitar. I had to play that song on a guitar, and so I did. And several years later, pedal steel guitar came into my life and I started playing country music in Japan. Oh, by the way, I'm from Japan. I got to the point that if I wanted to learn more about country music, I would have to live in the United States. So I did, and here I am now. I moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1992 and I have been very lucky to be able to play with many many great artists and musicians including, Radney Foster, Billy Dean, Martina McBride and I'm currently working with Lorrie Morgan. I have an independent record deal and my "Self Portrait" album is coming out soon!
