God began grabbing Joshua’s full attention many years ago. In full pursuits of a secular music career and desire for success, in the heart of Joshua something just didn’t feel right. “In order to know Christ, I needed to surrender; I needed to give him everything” Joshua recalls.
And so with that, Joshua truly surrendered his life to Christ, giving up his dreams and ambitions, and desiring more what the Lord had for Him. Now, with Jesus at the center, he serves as worship leader at Harvest Bible Chapel in Oakville, ON, a five year old church plant with now over 1500 attendees. Joshua’s desires to write songs for the church and see God glorified through his ministry.
“When I surrendered my old self to Christ, I changed, everything in me changed, my desire for success and the things that mattered went right along with it. I truly saw how empty the world was and all that it offered was nothing in comparison to Christ. My prayer and desire is to never see the old self resurrected but to make every breath count for the sake of Jesus Christ.”
Joshua struggles with self confidence, pride, the human tendency to want to take back that which has been surrendered, but by the grace of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit each day is victory and persevering path where God is at work in the lives of those who seek Him.
