    Joshua was lucky enough to be born and raised around Jackson, Tennessee which is halfway between Memphis and Nashville. How could he not be musically inspired with the Delta Blues from Memphis, Rockabilly from Jackson and Country from Nashville. His father was a Church of Christ preacher, and his mother was a singer/songwriter, so he learned to love Jesus and music very early in life. He and his brother Jonathan played in several bands through school and received performance scholarships to Northeast Mississippi, where they were active in a musical group called “Campus Country”. In the Winter of 1997, Joshua got a phone call from a nationally touring country group called “Shiloh”. They needed a harmonica player, so he dropped out of school the next day and caught a ride to New Mexico to meet them. He spent the next 3 months on the road, playing 6 nights a week, in over 20 states. In 1999, Joshua and his brother formed a band called “The Smoking Jackets”. He was the lead vocalist and also played guitar and harmonica. In 2000, The Smoking Jackets released a self produced album called “Youngblood”, and it had tremendous regional success. They traveled around the Southeast, opening for such acts as; The North Mississippi All Stars, Carey Bell, Three Dog Night, and Magic Slim. For two years they were considered THE band to hear in West TN. After two years with the Jackets, he struck out on his own. He ended up in Europe where he formed his own group and played with several international acts such as; Big Joe Turner and the Memphis Blues Caravan, Xavier Pillac, Jeff Magedson, and Boogie Leg. He played in France, Germany, Sweden and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. He was there 14 months before coming back and settling in Asheville, NC, then Nashville, TN, and now back in Asheville. Joshua recently signed with Good Guys Records and has spent the past 6 months on his new album called "King of Hearts". He just got back from a 20 day UK Tour and is gearing up for new album release.
