Introducing....JOSH VOWELL & THE RUMBLE. The three piece progressive and traditional BLUES band was formed by Josh Vowell in November of 2007 in Topeka Ks. Comprised of Josh on guitars and vocals, with Myrl "Biggs" Brown on bass guitar and Mike (funky) Lindsay on drums, Josh Vowell & The Rumble set out to leave thier contribution to the american tradition of the blues. In 2008, Josh Vowell & The Rumble had some major successes as they became a very professional band by playing over 50 shows, they also won V-100's "Best Band In NW Kansas", voted by the fans and people. They also were invited to open for Wayne Baker Brooks out of Chicago IL at Knuckleheads Saloon in Kansas City and they made it all the way to the Final round of competition at The Kansas City Blues Challenge at Knuckleheads. They also won The 1st Annual "High Octane Band Brawl" hosted by x-92 FM and sponsored by Supersonic music, placing 1st out of 6 other area bands.
2009 has been a very successful year so far for the band. Not only did the band get invited to their first Blues Festival in
Sedalia Mo, they recently won the 2009 Topeka IBC Blues Challenge at Uncle Bo's which has them on their way to compete and represent The Topeka Blues Society in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN. The IBC has evolved into the nation's biggest and most respected showcase for Blues musicians ready to take their act to the national stage. The IBC is a judged "Battle of the Bands" in which competitors take the stage and play a short set for a panel of judges. The acts are judged based on an established set of criteria.The winners of the International Blues Challenge receive cash and prizes such as professional consultations and assistance, gigs at some of the country's best festivals, as well as a slot on the October 2009 and January 2010 Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruises.

Hey Guys, really enjoyed seeing you and had a great time listening to some awesome blues. You rocked the Hideout last friday night. Congrates again on winning the top honors in the Kansas Blues competition, and good luck on the upcoming competition in Nashville. Think the addition of the harmonica was a nice move. Kick some ass.

Hey Josh, not alot going on today, jus chilin'. Got married May 16, honeymooned in Maui and Deby fell and broke her arm. Hopefully we can catch you guy's real soon, miss listening to JV & the Rumble. I'm not going to rock fest this year, but my daughter and her boyfriend have tickets. I know it's going to be a great show and awesome weather. Take plenty sunscreen. Later Bro, Barry
