   About Josh Williamson Band

Also known as "JWB" the Josh Williamson Band is a rock power-trio with a huge sound and a reputation for great live performances. Rooted in the blues but with funk and hard rock flavorings, JWB delivers its riff-laced rock set with the hard precision of an orchestra, the explosive energy of a punk rock band, and the deeper soul of a delta bluesman.

Check out the Josh Williamson Band's website for more info, song clips, pics & a complete show calendar:

Hey Josh,
I added a new song to the player. It’s called “Frantic Freedom”.

It’s a live studio groove rock jam that’s funky as hell! Think of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady” on steroids, and you’ll have a good idea of what’s in store for you when you hear the song. There’s also a companion live video for the song. And in the video I do my upside-down guitar thing. Ya gotta see it!!

Also, I added another video called “a little bit of my history”, in which I talk about some of the things that shaped me as a guitar player.

Check it out also!

…enjoy!

Set the Wayback machine for the summer of 1990..

It was a younger, drunkener time. There were keg parties and beer bongs, and guys that drank wine coolers on purpose. There was big hair, tight jeans, and that one chick in PE that always used to do that thing in the weight room with the bench press that made your underpants feel all funny. I think her name was Steve.

There was rock n roll on the radio. Not that whiny "my daddy never hugged me, and noone understands my pain" type rock n roll that seems to be so common with the black hair dye crowd these days, but "girls with big hair and small clothes" rock n roll. The good kind. With loud guitar solos and huge kick drums. The way Robert Johnson intended rock n roll to be when he made it up.

There were lots of bands that made you stand up out of the moon roof of your moms '84 Prelude and yell things like "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "Metal Health Will Drive You MAD!" and "Pour Some Sugar on Me" out loud in public, like an idiot. (it's ok. We all did it.)

There was only one "Cherry Pie" though. Only one video featuring Bobbi (with an "I") Brown wearing an apron short enough that it brought back memories of gym class. Only one song boldly featuring the lyrics "Swingin in there cuz she wanted me to feed her, so I mixed up the batter and she licked the beater."

Poetry. Genius on a level that Bob Dylan could only dream of.

And there is only one Warrant. You remember Warrant. You wanted to be "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinkin Rich", you wanted to check out "Uncle Toms Cabin" and go "Where the Downboys Go". Some of you knew that "Heaven" wasn't too far away. But most of all you wanted to know just exactly what the hell was going on in the back of that car that time when all you could see was two roller skates hangin out from underneath the door.

Yeah. You remember.
