Meeee and bits of stuff I've listened to over time i.e. a little Flora, Rickie Lee, Joni, Stella V, Urszula, Pat M Band - a little Rory, Patti, Annie and Al .....
Subsequently, I scraped a living as a a professional actress for several years before realising that my other love - music - promised ultimately more fullfilment and creativity. I decided to focus totally on music and after attending London’s Goldsmiths College Jazz & Pop Course, was accepted on the Guildhall School of Music’s Post Graduate Jazz & Studio Music course. This culminated in being featured vocalist with US jazz trumpet star Randy Brecker and the Guildhall Big Band at world-renowned Ronnie Scott’s Club in London.
After graduating from the Guildhall, I became a freelance vocalist singing mainly jazz plus pop and media sessions and pretty much anything that came up including vocal coaching.
I spent 2 years running & programming Ziggy’s Jazz Club in London’s West End featuring the cream of jazz talent in London in the early 90s.
Some of my collaborations & credits include: singer/ broadcaster Janey Lee Grace (BBC Radio 2/George Michael), Brendan Power (Riverdance), Randy Brecker, UK jazz sax player Theo Travis, The Soul Immigrants and various media sessions including BBC Radio and BBC Biker Grove (Simon Etchell).
After meeting (and marrying) drummer/composer Steve Taylor, I started writing songs with Steve and co-founded THE RUNNERS. A world-jazz-fusion influenced outfit, we released 2 albums on own label i2i records via New Note. Playing live at Ronnie Scott’s, Jazz Café, Glasgow Mayfest, Cardiff Summer Haze, Cambridge Boat Race plus UK tour with features on national TV and radio play on Radio 2, Jazz FM. Our many fans include Jools Holland and West End Theatre producer Bill Kenwright. The Runners gained recognition for the combined originality, beauty and oft described 'virtuoso quality music'.
Currently, I'm recording material for my new solo album; completing work on the 3rd World Runners album- High Land. I'm also vocalist / percussionist (and having a whale of a time doing it) in the fantastic Steve Taylor Big Band.

well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!
to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.
we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.
anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com
I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!
please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!
Each new jazz "friend" is important to us so, we appreciate your add very much.
If you are interested in a FREE listing on our Jazz Blog just send your MySpace URL to the e-mail address below. We will let you know when and where your listing will run.
"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine
“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew
"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun. " -- Diva Magazine

Greetings from Times Square NYC Josie, sounding real good over there, thanks for the Add-On! Good to see that you're keeping your old reel-to-reel tape deck working there for you. I know a lot of great musicians from Glasgow, Alex Ligertwood and if you see my old friend Maggie Bell around there please say a big Howdy from Hammond here in the big apple. Keep up the great work there! c u in a minute, Jon http://ascap. com/network/audioportraits/jon_hammond_ndr/ *Member American Federation of Musicians Union Local 802, Local 6 / ASCAP Publisher
